Thank you! I am not mechanically inclined and after years of knowing I wasn't doing it right I found this. Subscribed.

For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. kzread.infoUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself. Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected.

You sometimes have to refill the spool two or three times depending on the size of the lawn and you're tired. This video makes the process simple

FYI : VERY IMPORTANT: Homelite weed Eaters come in two thread models. Red knob & Black knob. The Black knob model is your regular Righty Tighty Lefty Loosy screw pattern to take it off & on, but The Red knob model has a reverse thread screw pattern to take it off & on. Great Video ! Very simplictic!

No need to disassemble. Just line the arrows up on the bottom of the head. Shove the line through and start winding it up

Our weed whacker didn't come with the red cap. I know this is an older video but if you read this can you tell me what the part number is for? Ours is a 26cs I believe. Frustrating not being able to use it

I use a thicker gauge string than is recommended (0.095" vs 0.080") because it lasts longer. But I do have to take the head off and spray some lube in the hole to get the string through it. This is a great video. The guy being left handed is a little weird to watch.

You don't even have to remove the cap, just spin the spool so the arrows on top line up with the holes, then you just push the string all the way through.
