This story makes me ashamed to be British why is the government not helping our own, this poor lady needs help. It makes me sick to the stomach, our Government have loads of money to chuck at the illegal immigrants but this poor lady needs to be looked after and housed. What she's saying is just not adding up 5:28. That "wife cannot give evidence against her husband" is patently untrue. If she filed a police report she would be given shelter to the many women's only shelters that exist in the country. And that she cut ties with her family so that her husband doesn't hurt them? It just doesn't add up. Her unreliability aside, it's really up to her to save money for emergencies, be employable so that she can get a job and not be homeless, or else divorce her husband and take his money if she was a housewife. Her story doesn't add up at all...

she can claim universal credit even with no address, lots of things in the interview do not add up. The council would not give 'intentionally homeless' status to a victim of domestic violence.

She did not make herself homeless, her partner made her homeless by his violence to her. The council should help her regardless, she vulnerable and sick she needs peace, safety, warmth and care.

God bless this lady! Someone needs her to get to France and organise a boat to come back to England! It is disgusting treating our English homeless! I am choked up with tears! How can we help this lady?

Hi Sandra, if you see this please try contacting the women's refuges. I have stayed in a few because of DV, you shouldn't be on the streets. I'm not sure what their criteria is in terms of your homeless status tho, but find out & ring around. You might have to move area to find an available bed

The thing is if she has the ball rolling where she is with her health and homelessness, she would have to wait from scratch again. Like the lady said she has to comply with what they want. There are a lot of homeless women in Westminster

This is awful a lady of her age should be a prioriaty, its sad and shocking to see this hope she gets support, i know a guy who was living in sheds, at 67 but now hes in a shelted place in a nice area its not simple but there's hope, the guy did choose to live like that but in the end he was to old.

This is what happens to the poor and vulnerable native Brits because of the liblabcon parties we have had running the country for decades.

I just wish politicians would see this, it is so heartbreaking , British born people are not looked after but immigrants whether illegal / legal/ asylum seekers are put first we are know longer the land of milk & honey those days have long gone & why because our system has been abused, , the government can find millions for these people , we send money to countries in foreign aid, but our own British born regardless of colour or creed are forgotten or put to the bottom of the pile to just exist, what sort of life is it to exist when they have no hope of being able to turn their lives around ,

Have drugs been a part of her life as she looks a lot older than her 55 years , Hopefully they can treat her lung cancer and gets rehoused . Benefits can be obtained her support worker should be able to sort this . This woman can testify against her husband for domestic violence.

This woman has lung cancer and she is living on the streets??? This is despicable and shocking!

Can she not get sheltered accommodation from the council because she's over 55 and ill??? It's expensive but she should be able to claim housing benefit to pay all or most of the rent.... even if it means leaving London?? Better to move if necessary and have a home.

So sad, but she's not intentionally homeless, she's 'fleeing domestic violence' and that's when she can get her local safeguarding team involved in rehousing her, surely, even the medical people she's involved with would know that, and they have their social workers who can help to refer her to the right departments for rehousing.

You can be paid by npes national payment exemption service where you are sent a text message and you go to the post office with id and claim your money all you need is a care of address to get universal credit so I sort of believe her but still one should be cautious when engaging with road people's

First thing this Lady needs to do is ... GET OUT OF LONDON to somewhere where their more compassionate and understanding of your situation. They wouldn't allow this up north..I don't so think so anyway?????

Sorry ,she is lying.She would see an oncologist and have radiotherapy or chemotherapy .I dont believe she has cancer ,she claims not to have even seen an consultant..So she can not have been tested MRI CAT blood or diagnosed with lung cancer.
