Actually I believe that he lied to us about his own age! possibly in a little hope that maybe that could help him a little bit more just in case that someone could give him a little job or something like that! Just as he lied to us also on telling us that he didn't know that "Beverly Hills" was a rich zone! Come on! Could somebody actually believe him that lie? But that's also very understandable and it all even makes perfect sense when he says that: "everything happens because of something! and for a reason"! .... because he obviously knows very well that in order to get something or anything in your life you always have to be in the right place at the right time! somehow, somewhere and anywhere! and the right age might help a lot on that too!

I was homeless for 5 yrs, because of my alcoholism. While i was out there i had all kinds of excuses, my mom was a drunk, parents were both abusive, i suffered severe abuse as a child and as adult, i had a litany of excuses. One day shit happened(long story short), i decided i wanted a better life for me and my doggie. I got off my ass, quit the drinking, quit the excuses and today i have been sober and off the streets for 5 + years with my sweet doggie. I wake up everyday and make a gratitude list, it is pages long each day as i will never forget what ots like to have nothing and today i have so much. Hope this guy gets with God and gets his life in order, it isnt easy, and it doesnt happen over night but it can be done.

They should benefit off their own situation. I'm not saying German in Venice is purposely exploiting them and their situation for money, but it also feels like that's what's been anyway cause he does make money just saying, "look at these homeless people and their camps." The homeless people themselves can do that and make that money.

omg this video has upset me so much.. why is he waiting for someone ELSE to realize his potential!!?? the beauty of america is realizing your OWN potential and having the guts to go for it! we all have shitty circumstances. come on.. we're not this weak. this is a good guy, i feel him on the soul searching and philosophical/esoteric vibe.. but come on. self-reliance. forge your own path. teach your kids things that don't get taught in school, love on them. raise them to feel secure. teach them to stand their ground. what happened to accountability! this guy blamed EVERYTHING on others. no one is addressing that. he's an autonomous adult who can make his own decisions and path now, life doesn't have time for mommy and papa issues. we have to pick up ourselves by the boot straps. this is what america is all about! i'm so tired of these excuses from everyone. demand better public educations so kids can get classes on building generational wealth. teach more entrepreneurial.. teach kids things of VALUE.. and love on them. this guy got a bum deal in like, but come on . i'm tired of "hopefuls" being a drain on LA's non-existent resources. people come here to travel or camp out or XYZ because they either get sent here by bus, they like the weather, or because our benefits program reward people to come. this is not fiscally sustainable nor humane. i worked on 6th street and there was a homeless person dead for a few days. and no one knew. i was like.. this smells BAD. no one cared or listened or responded to me. right outside a restaurant, too. and this was before the virus. turns out, someone was laying dead.. in a tent.. for who knows how long. you can literally DIE on the streets of LA.. and no one would notice. unbelievable

@Shashwat mishra $5-7hr? Are you stupid or what? Minimum wage in California is $12hr. Most places like Amazon, FedEx, will start you at $15hr. 50 hrs a week is almost $800 a week. Amazon has a national $15 start pay. Even with millions out of work, they still can't find enough worker's. I wonder why?? I know its expensive in Cali, but I know 3 people making it on $15hr. Their secret is that they hussle and live BENEATH their means. (Driving 200k mile junky car) They don't have $800 smart phones, or drink $6 Starbucks coffee. 😏

The British did a documentary once, where they allowed a homeless person to find a briefcase of $150k cash to see if it would give them the stepping stone to get out of the situation they're at. Unfortunately the first thing they did was hit the bar, buy everyone a drink, celebrate every night for a few months, before ending back up on the streets. He talked a good talk too.

@ I wish i could find it myself. It was a good few yrs ago. Maybe even 10-15yrs ago. He DID get into an apartment, for the few months. Kept saying how he was going to sort his life out. They often have very interesting stories, and many are actually charismatic, and IMHO could make a career in sales. They often seem to share the same personality traits. Whenever i get into a conversation with one, its very much like the above in the video. They're fairly interesting, except they just can't sort life out. In this particular study documentary, they didn't even want him to know it was a setup.. They allowed him to find the briefcase.... The crew kept following him, which unfortunately was mostly to the bar. He was a generous in that he kept buying everyone drinks. But before you knew it, he was back living under an underpass and right back to square one.

Beverly Hills is for celebrities, basically. I agree with one commenter, he needs to do some volunteer work, and make connections, because isolation can be dangerous. He could use a support group for abuse survivors as well. Many homeless people had to leave home too early because of a toxic family, and can't safely return to such people. Thing is, back in the 60's- 70's, you could leave home and do well quickly,if you got a job, found a cheap place, stay away from early marriage and children. Now, prices are insane and competition fierce.

@@DavidWilliams-cn4ho The poor and homeless of Christ's time are not the ones in ours. There is ample opportunity for help, jobs, counseling, housing, job training, hell even job offers. There have always been sick, mental cases, abuse victims, etc throughout history sure even narcissists and sociopaths. The difference is that in today's world there is so much help, understanding, and mercy yet they still do not learn to fish for a lifetime but to be fed for a day. All they want is money. Money is the root of all evil. Christ was extremely judgemental and a political figure. Throw out the rest of the bible and only focus on the gospels (there are only 4) and Jesus in his own words then come back and tell me I'm incorrect. To come up here holier than thou you have no idea the amount of help I have given my community or fellow man. It is not wrong to call a spade a spade, a rapist a rapist, a narcissist a narcissist, a homeless a homeless. These are grown, able bodied men. They are the only ones holding themselves back these days. Sure there are drugs and addiction but there is also treatment which used to never exist. Pity and excuse making is just as bad as soft racism where you think you are better and know better and that the rest are too stupid or inferior to help themselves. I say shine a light on it with the TRUTH and not be afraid of the truth nor shame and judgement. In fact the world needs more shame and judgement. It's this free wheeling application of any lifestyle regardless of how low and dysfunctional as somehow having some sort of dignity to it that has only grown street culture and it's acceptance.

Exactly, never mind if we were to ignore everything from the media about that sign alone, and let’s say that he was living under a rock, but the guy hasn’t wondered why every third car that passes buy is worth at least $100,00? Plus I am surprised that he’s been allowed be there for a year without anyone in the neighborhood complaining, much less the cops just wanting to know who he is. People called the cops on me twice from my neighborhood of 17 years, once as I was walking my dog at night, and the second time I was tracking The International Space Station from my own backyard hill. Yet this guy sleeping just off the sidewalk ( and near a school zone no less) without any police interaction, ether he’s lying, or that’s becoming a $hit neighborhood. I’ll say it again, I’m all for helping the homeless, but I don’t want homeless people settling up camp in my neighborhood, especially since I have a young daughter who insists on going out on jogs at all random hours, but ya, he definitely knows why he’s camped in front of that sign, I’m just surprised that the neighbors, ( never mind the cops) have no problems with him being there.
