The problem is we wanted to have patience/acceptance/tolerance & empathy for the homeless. We tried to understand that not all of them wanted, for some reason, to live inside. Thing is homeless seem to have no patience/acceptance/tolerance or empathy 4 others. Basically, we're bending to the will of people who may not be in their right minds. We were trying not to be unfair to them... but they have no problem being unfair to the rest of us (I understand they prob r not in their right mind & can't). The solution is to override what they want because the rest of us want 2b happy, in peace, comfortable as well... they cannot manage themselves & we should no longer bend to their will &/or dysfunction.

What do you want, police to stand guard all night? We don't have enough police to deal with crime as is. Lets say I remove my front door, and people keep coming into my home and stealing my stuff. I call the police, they arrest a few people, but then it keeps happening.. don't I have a responsibility to secure my home, like.. replacing the door? Simpling fixing the fence with a stronger fence and maybe a roll of razor wire would have ended this back when they removed everyone the first time. I mean, I don't get how you can be ok with the police being diverted from serious crimes to keep kicking the homeless out of this complex, that makes no sense. I fully agree with you. I do believe that the police have their "hands tied" due to policy that was passed by the city supervisors to where they can't remove people off the property and can only issue citations to trespassers, asking them to leave. I won't be surprised if the city issues the property owner a citation and fines for the trash left behind and give a certain amount of time to clean it up or if not done within that time face additional fines. As for the iron fence they want to erect around the building, they'll have to get a permit from the city and the overall costs will be passed on to the tenants living in that building thus raising the already astronomical rent. The people of S.F voted for that sh*t.

I'm all about helping the homeless, but every major city seems to be playing the game of "kick them out, use tax dollars to throw away all their garbage, wait until they setup camp in a new place, rinse repeat If I was the building owner I would fix the fence, rope it off for "construction", then setup a fire sprinkler system down there with flashing lights hooked up to motion detectors. Make it so miserable nobody will want to live down there.

By the way, you don't call 911 and ask for help. You do it yourself if you know what I mean. And I don't mean spraying people with water hoses. I mean, a lot worse, we've done it in New York, too, and it the job gets done.

Fire under the concrete slab is no joke. The carbon and heat can alter the chemistry of the concrete and change its structural characteristics. Even though the fire won’t get hot enough to melt anything, it can still cause significant damage.

@@truther001 I was there for ronald reagan. the first President I ever voted for. Democrats love to slander his name. It's what I find the most dangerous about these new democrats. The explosion of the homeless just happened in the last few years. In California the democrats have raised the taxes on everyone. So many regulations and they come up with lots of useless agencies and more worthless bureaucracy. You really want to blame reagan for the problems going on in SF? All the bad policies of the democrats going back to when Newsom was the mayor there and they continued the losing policies and now look at SF. The democrats never take any responsibility for any of their own policies. They double down on stupid and blame Reagan. Very humorous. Jimmy Carter was a nice man but a bad President.

The term Unhoused needs to stop. These are people that are drug addicted and staying in sf, not trying to work, not trying to be more comfortable in a different part of the world in order to be close to their dealers of drugs. These are not "people who lost their housing because rent went up". Media... please start calling it what it is so that it's publically recognized what needs to be addressed instead of it being in some constant loop.
