It’s insane how much a cat can change if given a morsel of love. My lad was in a shelter from birth, and the staff said he was often nearly adopted (he’s very beautiful, long haired, black and massive green eyes) but more sociable, friendly cats were eventually chosen instead since he always hid away from potential adopters. I wondered if I was just going to have an unfriendly cat, oh well, I’ll still love him even if it’s from a distance. That night, I managed to pet him once before climbing into bed. Light out. Suddenly, purring right by my ear, and snuggles into my body. Hes slept with me every night since. He’s the most affectionate, loving and wacky cat I’ve ever met - and all it took was one pet. It used to make me sad to think that he didn’t get any of that for the first 2.5 years of life but he gets all the love and affection he could possibly want now so I choose to focus on that. Harry says hi.

He looks just like my baby boy "Larry" I was coming back from my local Wal-Mart, one night when, I see this little kitten run across a busy intersection. I started to stop but, then I see him dart under a bush at a gas station and thinking "whew, he's safe" Started thinking about him and turned around to find him meowing and scared. It took me over a half hour to coax him out with food and just talking to him. He was so tiny, he fit in one hand....he now weighs 20lbs! He's been with us for over 4yrs now and I can't imagine life without him. Went out for cat food and came home with a kitten! We have 2 cats and a very spoiled (they're all spoiled) Corgi and life is great. It always makes me happy when I see videos like this. Bless you for giving him a home.

Aw... another McDonalds rescue cat! I rescued a tuxedo kitten from a drive thru of a McDonalds that I worked at. She was a tiny little kitten who we named Mickey D, though she also earned the nickname of "Twit". She was my baby for 16 years and was one heck of a cuddle muffins. I miss her a lot.

He's super gorgeous,my heart melted when he just willingly entered the carrier,to go his forever home😸

I became friends with my 2nd cat when he was a stray cat over 40 years ago. I even named him Roughneck but, it was shorten to Ruffy for being so sweet and friendly cat. He liked my sister and even my parents. Even our first cat liked him,too. It took a month and a half to adopted him. He turned out to be a wonderful cat.

This makes me cry with joy. We have 10 cats in our house all but one were rescues that find their way in our yard. I guess word gets around that our home is a safe space. We have two more that hang out near the yard. We have a dog house lined with my Grandma's mink coat. So they are safe and warm and spoiled, just the way we like all of God's creatures.

Donald has grown up to be a beautiful boy, thanks to your kind care. I now have 2 rescue cats, one found in a tree as a tiny kitten crying pitifully.I then adopted another kitty and they have become the best of friends. Before I had 6 rescues, 4 dogs and 2 cats.

Ok. I am crying. Thank you for being the people that you are.

I did this so many times decades ago. Picked up so many stray and feral cats. It was not easy with the feral cats. -- but persistence pays off. The feral cats turned out to be the most sweetest most lovable kittys ever.

Most will, except an older cat that still wants to be outside. Then, I put out a shelter house, toys, catnip, clean drinking water & dry & wet food -- refreshed daily❣ I have 3 brothers (feral kittens, 3-4 weeks old) that were rescue them from the common area patio at my condo building. They are now 14.5 years old . . . They've never had to be outside most of their lives & are still like kittens❣🐾🐞😻

Thank you so much for rescuing Donald! I have a partially ferel rescue I adopted from the back of my building, 8 years now I've had her. She won't sit in my lap but she's turned into a pretty normal cat with a few jitters around people. My ex worked for the Amanda foundation and we rescued a bunch then. You're fortunate to get Donald when you did because after a certain amount of time in the wild they are pretty much ferel for life. Thank you again from a life long animal advocate and lover!

Donald is a very beautiful cat! Sometimes, all it takes to turn a feral cat into a human lover is just the right person, someone willing to give them the time to take the process at their own pace. Then, once they realise that not all humans are bad news, they soon realise what all the benefits of moving in will be!

A lot of abandoned or lost cats are assumed as being “feral” but they’re not true Ferals. But you probably know that too. And you’re right even ferals will bond to people.

We have a Main Coon cross that had been abused and was returned to the SPCA twice under nasty circumstances. He hid for the first week we had him but now, after 2 years, he is behaving like a normal cat. He has literally blossomed in that time and has become a very affectionate cat. He has sensitive stomach but we just change his food when it gives him some grief. He has developed his own language for us and is also a pointer. When he wants something he will find one of us and sit and wait for us to get up and follow him. He is an extremely smart cat and we love him to bits. He is keeping the mouse population down as well. What a hunter. He is now a very happy kitty.

People don't give cats enough credit for their intelligence. They figure out everything they need to figure out, and learn to trust the people who are worthy of that trust. My mom ended up taking in my sister's black long hair, because my sister had dogs and a party life, and the cat was pretty skittish. My mom is disabled and leads a very quiet life, which was perfect for Gorilla. She got lots of lap time, when she wanted it and no more, and her own room to live in. She was always timid, but she became much more calm and even a little bit outgoing towards the end of her life. They know who has their back.

I adopted a cat from a refuge, who had been mistreated in a previous life. I also took in a young lady kitten, and he quickly fell in love with her. It took months before he allowed me to even touch him. Now he got to really enjoy being patted or being brushed. I also feel a lot of gratitude from my big feline. Cats are wonderful companions and very sensitive beings.

Both are burried next to the pond they enjoyed looking out of the bedroom window perch. ( indoor cats) I am honored to give them a good life. Still heart broken time heals. Giddy up...

I have 3 cats too. They were born on the grounds of my building & just turned 21 on Halloween, Fluffy, the male tuxedo; Fuzzy, the tiny pudgy baby cat tuxedo who acts like a kitten & Little Girl, the shy but sweet black cat. All have long hair & fuzzy tails. I also feed 6-8 cats with no home every day and 2, Mama Cat & Kitten Cat now come into my apartment to eat, sleep & hang out with my cats. Mama is a gray tabby who loves Fuzzy. Kitten is a gray & white tabby with white paws. My girlfriend has two rescue cats, Cleo & Ceasar. They were being abused and she has had them 3 years & they love her very much.

I recently adopted an abused cat of 13 years old. I'm her third owner. Trust was a big factor. Every day I work with her. I push her comfort level a little. She sees nothing bad happened. It builds her confidence and she grows. She really loves me now. She's a wonderful animal. I would never give her up. She's mine forever and I'm hers forever.

I've rescued a few cats cat without a home- in also dire need of not just love, but some food- and they were just like my twins too! Very very sweet guys- and once settled- very settled... (I currently have two shelter rescues I was worried wouldn't make it- really needed to be adopted- and one was from outside too. The always indoor ones can do that same really wanting to nuzzle you too...my little girl didn't have a stable home for years... she would cling to me literally...and still shows me how much she loves me many years later! )
