    OH MY GOD OH MY GOD. This is BY FAR the best Homeland video i've ever seen. You editing skills are just SO GOOD, HOW DO YOU MAKE THIS? I am amazed, seriously every freaking second of this is just a true masterpiece. The song choices, the timming, everything. You're so talented. Such an amazing tribute that there's no words to even explain it. Thank you for making this video,

    Shortly after the publication of Tyranny of Secrets, when it seemed you couldn’t escape a mention of Mathison or her book wherever you went... Throughout the book, Mathison disassembles the public’s understanding of several prominent figures and highlights others we had no idea existed. A significant portion of her book is dedicated to essentially rewriting the story of Nicholas Brody, the American Marine prisoner of war who returned home in late 2011 as a hero and just over a year later was implicated in the 12/12 bombing of the CIA headquarters. Of all the revelations in her book, her claim that Brody was in fact innocent of that bombing and that CIA brass knew it is one of the most shocking. After Brody died in 2013 on a covert mission, she lobbied Andrew Lockhart, then CIA Director, for one of those stars on the Memorial Wall, the private memorial-one star for every CIA employee who lost their life-that greets everyone as they walk through the lobby of the Agency’s headquarters. “He basically told me that despite whatever Brody had done at the end, his earlier actions disqualified him. That wasn’t the first time I’d heard that. That he would always be the person who put on a suicide vest. The person who made that tape. It was completely lost on him that he was putting 219 stars on the Wall for people who’d died at a memorial for a man who dropped a bomb on a school full of children. That person was deserving of a star, but Brody wasn’t?” Once denied, she didn’t push it. “I was hyper aware of how this appeared to everyone, of course. I wasn’t completely oblivious.” She’s referring now to another major revelation in her book: her years-long affair with Brody, which started a few weeks after he returned from captivity and lasted until his death. I’ll admit that I was a bit gobsmacked when I got to that part of the book. The woman whose job was hunting terrorists ends up falling for one? It’s the stuff of tabloids and soap operas. Yet it lends a propulsive, page-turning quality to the book that has kept it at the top of the New York Times Best Seller List for months. (One American journalist who has covered the intelligence community for years tells me their relationship was an open secret at Langley, but to the general public, it was certainly news.) It also gives easy fire to her critics, who have predictably used the relationship to discredit her. It is this indiscretion more than any other (and there are others: her use of illegal surveillance to gather intelligence on Brody and his family; providing authorization to bomb a Pakistani wedding party; or setting a honey trap for the nephew of former Taliban leader Haissam Haqqani… to name a few) that her detractors have latched onto more than any other. Mathison is mostly unbothered by these critiques. “I couldn’t tell my story without telling Brody’s story, because I shaped it, knowingly and willingly. It would be dishonest to pretend otherwise, and I didn’t want to be dishonest in this book,” she says matter-of-factly.

    Why is Carrie's bipolar disorder one of her strengths? Bipolar has what appears to be an enhanced ability to organize data and make connections between bits of information in different categories. In fact, he is a professional methodologist. The job is to teach people to be data analysts. It is not by chance that he gets sick after doing this job for three or four years. Anyway, he is very good at this job - so much so that he can almost sleep. When people present a problem to the bipolar person, he understands it very quickly. I believe it is because it has an internal model of how the world works that it is effective for organizing new data quickly. There's even an analysis of your model's path posted on the bulletin board, just a reminder of how everything relates to everything else. People like Carrie (or whoever writes her character) and other bipolar are trained in many different analytical techniques. When you combine this with a strong sense of empathy and an artistic inclination (eg a musician), I think it makes it easier for them to separate and reconstruct pieces of information that are apparently unrelated in a coherent story, it happens that it hides more quickly than most others. I'm not sure if the intensity has a lot to do with it, because the intensity has a more different focus. For most bipolar people, love is a major concern. In fact, it is the reason for existence. You see this on the show with Carrie's obsession with Brody. She needs intensity and, most of all, she needs love. She will die without him. Well, if the character is like a bipolar, she will die without him. In fact, wasn't it when she took all those pills? When did she not return to Cia after the mission in Lebanon? Anyway, it is this type of thinking that seduces and addicts. Bipolar enter these mental frames and do not want to leave. When they make connections, it's like fireworks exploding from the inside. Interestingly, this has always happened to Carrie, I believe. I still remember a period when the character's thoughts seemed to be going so fast that they really upset him. I thought her brain was thinking too fast because it knew it was going to die and was trying to think as much as possible before it happened. Why would Carrie die? Brain cancer, we would think. I'm glad it was bipolar instead. And I had read once about a species of tree or something that, when threatened by drought, would flourish and generate much more bulky seeds. He knew he was going to die, so he put all his energy into creating seeds. I thought something analogous might be going on in a bipolar person's brain. I don't know how many people can make a connection like that, now it's the kind of thing that I think happens to bipolar people more often. The manic phase of bipolar disorder may have some effects that would certainly affect your strengths as a researcher. My emphasis is added to these aspects: Very elevated mood; Excess activity (hyperactivity); Increased energy; Racing thoughts; Talking a lot; Very high self-esteem (false beliefs about self or abilities); Very involved in activities; Very upset (agitated or irritated). Of course the flip side is that she'll have a major crash once in a while if not treated consistently.

    Brody's story is tragic ... He was a Marine who was destroyed and rebuilt by the enemy to be defeated repeatedly. Pushed back and to another place. His loyalty was to whoever gave him the best chance to survive. He never had a chance. No one can judge you by the horrors you endured. And also the ones he caused. Having to live and observe the lives he destroyed around him took everything away from him. Carrie hoped to find redemption for him. Brody knew his destiny was to die. In her last moments, she made a point of being there. To witness this, its truth, its history when it finally came to an end. Saul agreed to kill Brody when they thought he had turned around again. After completing the mission, Saul fulfilled his promise and immediately organized the escape plan. Dar Adal and Senator Lockhart betrayed Saul and canceled the rescue plan because they wanted Brody to be found and executed so that Javadi was chosen to influence Iran's leadership. Furthermore, they thought the mission was too risky. And due to his history, he cannot be honored ... His story was so sad! He deserved better - Brody made a mistake.

  • @narvinek

    @narvinek

    10 жыл бұрын

    Yes, there will be. I just wanted to finish my old projects (Breaking Bad, Dexter, Homeland). Now I'm working on Enlightened and The Shield ones. Then, I think I'm going to rewatch Mad Men episodes (I already found theme music) and The Sopranos. So, I hope that Enlightened, The Shield, Rome and Sopranos are for this year (maybe short one for True Detective too). Then I'm planning Mad Men, Parks and Recreation, Game of Thrones. I'm waiting for Mad Men to end, becouse I don't want to make a video for still airing series. It's a little frustrating at times. It was for me in BrBa case. So there will be a video set to Tony Soprano's story. I just have to find the time and rewatch the whole series again (and also finally pick the right music for it, becouse I have a few ideas).

    How does Abu Nazir know that Brody will be approached about running for office? Would Nicholas Brody be qualified to be a congressman or Vice President in the real world, as depicted? Is the Vice President’s wife manipulating Jessica Brody in S2? 1. He doesn’t know that Brody will be approached about running for office. That was a fortuitous outcome. He knew that Brody would be hailed as a hero and may be given access to the VP. The plan that plays out in “Marine One” was not predetermined from the time Brody was turned and “rescued.” It evolved over time. 2. In the real world, a toilet brush is qualified to become congressman or VP, as is apparent by the near recent state of American politics. As a presumed war hero, Brody is actually a fantastic candidate. 3. I’m not sure what you mean by “manipulating” - the VP’s wife was cultivating an ally in Jessica, the better to influence her husband.

    Great seasons.. then it became the crazy Carrie show. F Saul .. wtf Saul… Quinn. Where the f is Saul???… next scene was Saul at that unfinished/ 1/2 destroyed tower going to $ for Brody to do the mission. Cool actor also as leader of spec ops team. Donnie keschwartz( can’t spell it.. sorry),,, he was in 24 day 2 as yusef. He helped jack but got beat by those guys who took Kate Warner. He died but lived till jack found him in phone booth and said the bad guys went to buy the chip from Kate Warner.
