John grew up living under the threshold of LAX, building models and riding in the back seat during his fathers pursuit of a private pilots license. As a boy in his Grand mothers backyard, John could see the oil streaks on the bottoms of the DC-4’s that were still in active service flying final approach into LAX. Many days in the summer were spent on Aviation boulevard right behind the blast deflectors on it’s south runway leaning into the jet exhaust of departing 707’s, DC-8’s and anything else the belched burnt jet-A. Maybe that’s how it got into his blood! Having a love of art but not interested in making things to hang on wall or sit on pedestals, John realized the highest form of expression would be to design and build an aircraft someday.

I’m customer number 1 of their “Voodoo” design. To say that John and Jeff are extremely talented is a gross understatement. They are both great human beings as well. The experience thus far has been fantastic. MR JFLYER your statement is utter BS. Exactly which “desines “ have they stolen? I’ll let you steal my Spell check app. MojoGrip thanks for doing this video. It was a pleasure to meet you, sir.

He seems like a great guy who know what he's doing. While I have no interest in a single seater, I am already exited to learn what they are planning to launch next. I am hoping for a fast 2+2, like the Cozy, but as an easy to build kit!

Cool guys and hopefully they can deliver on their vision. The customer will be the true benefactor for sure. I went to the Revelaero website and the functionality is off. They should check it out. Also it doesn't really say much about when and how much for their deliverable, if there is one at all. Without seeing this video, I would not know anything about the product status.

You should be able to tell from my past work prior to Raptor that success is driven by good design and experience. The Voodoo is a 24 year old design of mine finally being developed. It inspired my Orion, a larger derivative of the Voodoo platform, which was described as the " best " flying canard ever flown by an ex-navy test pilot, one of the most notable in our industry who had flown all other canard types prior to flying my Orion/ Phoenix design. I was also responsible in the Velocity redesign exercize that resulted in the then new Velocity XL design. I have other successful designs that were put into the air. The Raptor , though it was stated I was to direct its development( not the cars in reality) is no design of mine. John has one successful original flight proven design under his belt also( the Darling) , so as a team we have " been there, done that, got the T-shirt" a few times over collectively. If only the naysaying trolls could make a similar claim. And none of our designs are copied from anyone else's. Sure the Aurora looks similar to an Avanti, but an EXPERIENCED designer knows it is not as simple as shrinking a larger airplane format and having it turn out successful, there are numerous considerations that have to be taken into account in design that most uninitiated folks are even aware of. How about all you folks out there showing us some of your aircraft designs and prototypes. Would love to see them. Jeff

@@devinkerlo2666 Sorry Jeff this is not at all what i was trying to say. The planes you have designed all look great. Period. I was just seeing you work on the Raptor and then on this new to me project and couldn't help but notice that they are very opposite in terms of complexity and i imagine that working on something more simple after working on something quite complex must be a nice change. And no i have never designed a plane in my life, just like 99% of commenters here i assume.

Jan, forgive me if it sounded as though I was singling you out in this reply, That was not the case at all, I appreciate your kind words. It was more intended for those armchair critics who endeavor to tear apart and criticize, many times with no experience or factual , accurate, derogatory claims or criticisms. The types that don't have neither the skill, drive , or ambition to rise out of the Lazy Boy recliner or step away from their weapon of choice( computer keyboard) and actually accomplish something of merit. Its all good tween you and I , brother.😀😀. And the Raptor is the Raptor , all I can say !!!

Safe as a long term goal is great. This man is obviously highly skilled at hands on composite work and cad-cam stuff... But, for the sake of safety, I really hope his partner (or one of his employees) is a real engineer (P.Eng.)... in flight break-ups are expensive, and they do a lot of permanent damage to the reputation of "Safe".
