My dad installed a heated floor and towel rack in his bathroom (this was in England so it gets cooooold) and I remember it being heavenly. I'd do it here if I had some F U money lying around

living with my parents is hard since I cant design the way I want, except my room. I put together a whole folder of everything I want in my future home, from the colors and floors to the furniture and layouts. These videos opens up a new world of design for me and it helps a lot

When I had some light fixtures replaced in my house, I had the electrician replace the bathroom fan switches with switches that have timers. The switches were about $15 each at lowes. And I also had the electrician replace some outlets with ones that have USB ports. They are so handy for charging things!!

Oh I'm so envious of you! My bathroom fan is remotely controlled by the building management so I have zero control over when it turns on or off. Such a paint to have to schedule my life around it

my best home investment upgrade would be towel heater🥰 as a person who gets easily cold i love that i can take a bath and not dread going out of the shower especially during fall/winter/spring seasons

Although my condo was totally remodeled prior to my purchase I replaced every light fixture. What a huge difference, made the condo mine.

You are always here when I need your opinion. First time with area rugs. 2nd time, decluttering. Now, shower heads. The one I have feels like someone spitting me!

I designed my kitchen and baths. I handpicked all material used inside my home, down to the tiniest detail. I was consumed with my interior remodel for months. The result was worth all the sleepless nights because almost nothing was overlooked. The only item I let my contractor decide was closet shelving. After I moved in, as soon as weight was added, they collapsed. My contractor blamed me for having too much clothing even though I repeatedly told him that I have a lot of clothing items. Hindsight I should have paid attention to closet installation myself. Now I use metal clothing racks; some with casters, some not. So far they hold up well and much cheaper to diy, don’t need a handyman or risk having the replacement rod shelves ripped out of the walls later.

Oh my gosh. I did all of theses to my home! I love your ideas. I even changed out doorknobs and hinges. I had new flooring put in too. Love you!!! Oh almost forgot had my master bath updated and the flooring guy remarked and said it reminded him of a luxury hotel bathroom. It’s gorgeous!

great advice all around! And the cabinet hardware! Our 69 MCM had white porcelain pulls and replaced with brass pulls. Completely changed! Now I can live with slightly funky till a bigger remodel!

I loved all these tips! Changing the cabinet hardware is such an underrated upgrade that makes such a huge difference! I’ve purchased a few cabinets from IKEA and immediately swapped out the hardware and they are 💯 better! 😍👏🏼

Totally agree! I've done most of these upgrades myself in this home or previous ones and they do make a world of a difference (except I don't like apps so I just use a simple plus-minus remote control for my lights - it's so nice to control them all at the same time!). What I really need to do though is upgrade my bedlinen to well, linen. I just can't make up my mind about what colour to pick so I've been putting it off, but this is the push that I needed!

Moving into a new construction home in a few months. Needed this to affirm my thoughts about what I need to splurge on!

I have some linen bedding but I’m a crispy sheets girl. Highly recommend Red Land Cotton for those old fashioned off-the-clothesline fresh sheets!

Floors & lighting are the most impactful to me, if done right, a rich, high quality paint like BM will tie it altogether. That’s where I put my coins. The rest can be slowly found and bought without breaking the bank. Great video Arvin!

I just told my husband a few days ago that I can’t take all of these bright retina-burning lights in my eyes and that I wish we had some type of dimmers. Thank you, good advice! And yes! If you can project, do your floors before you move in! I think it’s called Berber carpet. Was a huge selling point when I bought 19 years ago. I didn’t really care either way then but now after pets and life, the idea and cost and logistics of replacing these condo floors (soundproofing required) is daunting! But long term underemployed owners like me may just have to live with what they’ve bought. I don’t have a solution. Pleh. But yes, good advice on floors 👍

❤For wallpaper, I would suggest stick and peel before you commit. Ots a fun way to change up a room, or wall. You may not want wallpaper and can change up stick and peel often as you want. Even renters can do it without damage to wall. Check out Amazon, lowes, home depot😁

I make my own linen bedding. Quality linen is not cheap bit so worth it! Linen breathes bit it will wear and deteriorate quicker than quality cotton as it’s 100% flax.

Can I be the nobody that asked: a video of just light fixtures. I need help picking fixtures throughout my house. Bathroom lights, bedroom lights, entry chandelier, dining room chandelier, kitchen table light, basement lights, etc. I have so many boob lights in my house! 😅 Even half boob sconces! 😂The real trouble I have is I need good lighting because it’s dark and rainy most of the year. I have SparkPod shower head in both of my shower stalls. They can be shipped to California when many products can’t due to water outflow limit in CA. They both work well and price is good.
