Home repair heroes
Last month 72-year-old Gloria Scott called John Kinney, an electrician in Woburn, Mass., to fix a ceiling fixture. But he soon discovered Scott’s house was in total disrepair, from a lack of running water to broken lights. She was too poor to make any house repairs - and too prideful to ask for help. So, Kinney returned and started repairing her home for free, and called on other tradespeople to join him. Steve Hartman reports on the inspiring renovation job by a crew dubbed “Gloria's Gladiators.”

What a beautiful man and an amazing community. "It's what you're supposed to do." Yes, it is. I wish everyone felt that way.
This is how we should treat our Elders. Thanks so much to that group who is changing this lady's life.
There are truly good people in this world.

I came here to say this! ❤️
In this world we need more of these kind of human beings...
American needs more people like John! God will bless him!
Restores our faith in the kindness & goodness of humanity. We need more people like John Kinney & Gloria's Gladiators in this world of ours!
Beautiful story!! We need many more people like him!
There are still good people in this world. A selfless act of kindness from a good man. It gives me hope.
This is what our world needs more of...
Love this! It takes a Village, but it starts with one kind heart.
God bless him and everyone who’s selflessness made this happen. Do good and good will come to you.
The human capacity of unconditional love is real. Blessings.

My mechanic is that way. You can catch him later. He won’t let you leave his place if brakes need fixing. He said he has never been burned. People sometimes just need a break. . We needed a battery fixed. He knew the car had been sitting for 4 months. He did a full oil change. Upgraded stuff for free that had not been done. He is fair. He explains. This story made me cry,
This country needs stories like this.
It is so heartwarming to see the kindness in people, that is what makes America such a great nation. God bless you all for your kindness in helping a person in need.
I am overjoyed!! What a wonderful spirit of giving !! There is nothing like letting our seniors know they are worth everything we have to give. God Bless you guys !!
Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Thanks to all who so generously gave!

I am a serviceman. I do all I can. This is amazing!
Just the kind of story to make us feel good about our fellow human beings...when it's not always easy to feel that way.
This is absolutely the BEST news I have seen in years. Glorious Gladiators....What a wonderful name for a fabulous group. People who are doing "the right thing" for the best reasons. They are helping someone else in need out of the goodness of their hearts. Now it looks as though their goal, efforts and empathy have been "catchy" and others are joining the crew. This is soooo wonderful on sooo many levels. People doing things for others because they care, without a thought for themselves. Bravo!!! Thank you!!! God bless you !!! This story is sooo encouraging considering what else is going on in the world.🙌❤🛠🏫🇺🇸🙏😇
Now that’s, love your neighbor in action!
What a great story and some very kind people thank you for your kindness
Kindness is contagious. It's in the giving that we receive blessings, plus it feels soooo good!!!!!
A GOOD MAN that demonstrates the "good" in America..

Only wish more people would share their skills and compassion with our older generation, then those that just share "selfies" from their cell phones.

Go to Kinney Electric's Facebook page. There's a section that says, "Nice Old Lady Needs Help". You can donate there. Very kind of you by the way! Thank you!
BEAUTIFUL❤️
Love it !!♥️♥️
Until Gloria's Gladiators makes it to your area, you can also volunteer (& access help if you need it) to work with Christmas In April, an organization that's been around for AGES who helps elders & other homeowners who can't afford to upkeep their homes. I used to work with them back in the day, & I've coordinated projects in GA & AZ. It's nationwide. A truly wonderful way to make a difference in someone's life! **TEARS!!!** THIS WAS SO AWESOME!!💖💖💖💖💖
Now THIS is AMERICA!🇺🇸💕
Wonderful to see good somewhere. I however have a leaking roof after spending $17K on new roof and now need new ceiling to boot . Contractors ask how much I am willing to spend, want to rip everything open and disappear, it is so difficult now that I stopped dying my hair. White hair makes them see green in this town.
Hey John Kinney,,, If you ever get some Glorious Gladiators set up Southeast Colorado,,, I want to help

I have had this idea for a while but do not know how to implement it. I am recently retired and have built up a set of carpentry/ electrical/ and plumbing skills over the years though sweat equity of the homes we have lived in while raising our family. I view myself as being very fortunate to not have to worry about affording my retirement and want to give back to the community by helping seniors who cannot afford simple repairs. Here in Kalamazoo Michigan there used to be a group called "Tuesday Toolmen" (kzread.info?search_query=Tuesday+toolmen) who would do exactly what John and his cohorts are doing here. I would love to be able to do things exactly like what you cover in this story. Unfortunately with liabilities the way they are, there is no easy paths forward for me. If anyone has an idea how I could implement something like this, I would be really grateful.
