It's impossible when I talk about this show to describe the "jokes," because the funniest parts of this show are not even really sentences or phrases or even words, they are just stutterings and half words and mumbles and it always gets completely lost in translation.

"What an adorably perfect little young lady." "...I'm not so little."

I love how, when Lindensen calls Brendon, an adorable little lady, he just says, "Well, I'm not so little."

"Excuse me Mexican..." McGuirk is the best.

McGuirk is one of the best cartoon characters ever made!!

this episode is the home movies quote goldmine. i swear, every one-liner i love is in here. real good shit. "to each his own, young woman!"

She said I gotta go, my mom is picking me up and he responded with awesome. Thats kind of a weird response to that statement but you can tell Brendon only said awesome because he was nervous. Thats why its funny. After that they are just playing on the original joke by repeating it for comedic effect. I dont believe they were trying to say that using the word awesome in and of itself was weird.

5:40 Cynthia really was listening to him! Albeit, Brendon DID tell him his name, but she did acknowledge the names he wanted to go by if he was a successful filmmaker. To be fair, Cynthia is a choreographer. She’s a busy girl, Brendon was talking to her while she’s focusing on her work. Although not all of it it justified, I don’t blame her for tuning him out, but I really wish that they were a couple... the fact she came looking for him showed that she had interest in him. It’s a shame it ended on bad terms.
