So glad to have you enjoying our guys. They are amazingly talented individually and when they come together it's magic. You need to check out Ring of fire , featuring Avi Capelan, really any of there music. Also Geoff, from voice play has done some of Home Free's arrangements. They guys write great music and all could have wonderful solo careers. Just so thrilled that they are together and love their fans.

Two suggestions are Take Me Home Country Roads ( one of their very best arrangements imo) and Brother which is both beautifully sung and funny. The guy in the cowboy hat is Chris Rupp ( founder of group). He left in 2016 todo his own thing. Adam Chance ( Chance) is the baritone that replaced him. Chance will take bass-line when Tim takes lead.

Their Country Fried Pop Medley is not to be missed. It is absolutely amazing. Love your reactions..Keep going down the Home Free rabbit hole. You will not be disappointed. This is an older one and has the original members from The Sing Off. Chris Rupp-Black Cowboy hat, founder of the group and has since left to pursue solo work. Adam Rupp-Chris' brother and beatboxer plus. Rob Lundquist-Best beard and smoothest tenor around. Gospel Rob will take you to church in many songs. Tim Foust--Bass and some surprising other octaves. Austin Brown-youngest member and the most sky high tenor around. Newer videos you will see Adam Chance, who goes by Chance to differentiate between the two Adams. Chance is mostly a whiskey smooth baritone but will capably fill in for Tim on Bass and sometimes double shot some bass notes with him. I found these guys during the 2020 lock down and have been loving them ever since. I got to see them live this year and it did NOT disappoint.

Home Free is my favorite acapella group because they have such variety with regard to serious, sweet, romantic, goofy, funny, ability to tackle big societal issues, and glorious musicality. They celebrate life and humanity in everything they do, plus have some amazing original songs in addition to covers. Their wholesomeness and harmonies kept me saner during the pandemic and now I have become a lifelong fan. I watched them win the Sing-Off in 2013 and rediscovered them during the pandemic.

Thanks for your reaction! Layne Stein, the beatboxer from Voice Play, helped them arrange this. Voice Play and Home Free are good friends since they competed against each other on the 'Sing Off' back in 2013 and went on the 'Sing Off' tour together when the show ended. Home Free has more of a Country/Folk style while Voice Play has more of a musical theater approach to acapella music but they help and support each other. Voice Play's bass singer, Geoff Castellucci, helped Tim with the arrangement for "Elvira". There is a fun video on 'You Tube' they did together from the 'Sing Off' tour : "Survivor- Zombies vs Hillbillies".

Home Free is such an amazing group. You can’t go wrong with any of their songs/videos especially during COVID they did a great job releasing great music and videos that they filmed in their own separate homes and sent to their producer to put together. It’s funny when they say “ham sandwich” the next scene Tim is eating it in the background. Chris Rupp who is the founder of Home Free and brother of the beat boxer Adam Rupp has his own KZread channel where he talks about the videos he did with Home Free and he said there is at least a scene where you don’t see him with the group because he was out getting food for everyone when they filmed it. It was during the “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” part. Chris left the group I believe in 2016 and started another group with his and Adam’s sister called 7th Ave Band and then he put a trio together called Cypress Fyre. Both of them are very good. The Honky Tonk Badonkadonk song is Trace Adkins.

Hey Nick, I'm new here. I like your reactions to my boys. You've done a serious song and a funny one (I can't believe you did Butts so early in your trip down this rabbit hole.) :) For some in the middle let me suggest: Land of the Free, written by Tim, My Church, a Maren Morris cover, and Meet in the Middle. Meet in the Middle was done during lockdown so each band member filmed themselves - the editing makes this truly amazing. Just FYI Avi has been in two Home Free videos and Geoff has done some great arrangements for the band. Rob, our lead tenor, was a guest vocalist in one of Voice Play's videos. It's OK to like all three groups. Personally I think Home Free is the best!

Home Free covers the gamut from completely silly to super serious. They can all sing lead (Adam Rupp became the vocal percussionist only because no one else wanted to, but they can all beat box). Home Free 'hit it big' when cofounder Chris Rupp was still with the group (he's the one wearing the cowboy hat), and they didn't skip a beat when Adam 'Chance' Ray joined the group. BTW ... this medley was arranged by Chris and VoicePlay vocal percussionist Layne Stein.

  • @babyfry4775
    @babyfry477510 ай бұрын

Oh they can be silly and that’s why we love them. They can make you laugh or cry but they always sound good. Tim is the bass, he cut his hair during Covid so now it’s shorter with gray. Austin is the redhead - can be super goofy but is amazing. Adam is the beatboxer, amazing talent. Boys call him a freak of nature. Rob (glasses or sunglasses here). He’s an amazing talent and great whistler. Chris (cowboy hat here or ball cap). He’s the baritone and founded the group with his brother Adam. He left the group in 2016 and was replaced by Chance. Try In the Blood, Playing with Fire, Helplessly Hoping. Enjoy!😍

Home Free's versatility is astounding. They bring their phenomenal vocal talent to everything from Blake Shelton's "Hillbilly Bone" to John Mayer's "In The Blood" to Boyz II Men's "End of the Road" to John Denver's "Take Me Home Country Roads" to an old folk tune like "Man of Constant Sorrow" to something up tempo like "Can't Stop the Feeling" to the spiritual as with their stunning rendition of "How Great Thou Art". Plus they offer wonderful Christmas renditions (e.g. "Do You Hear What I Hear" and "O' Holy Night"). And they always bring tremendous creativity. You really can't go wrong with anything from Home Free.

Home Free is the best a cappella group ever! These guys can do just about any genre... their soul is shown in their cover of Boyz2Men End of the Road and one absolute must is Man Of Constant Sorrow. Everything they cover is essentially an upgrade. Their harmonies and versatility are off the charts. Also fabulous is When A Man Loves A Woman and Folsom Prison Blues, both done during quarantine. Home Free are serious about their music, not themselves. Even their fun songs are done with gorgeous harmonies. You never can know what to expect from Home Free except it will be great. The Buttz Remix is an older video. It was done after they won the fourth season of The Sing-Off, an acapella competition show. Pentatonix had won the competition the previous year. Chris Rupp, Adam Rupp's older brother and co-founder of the group, was still in the group. He is the guy in the cowboy hat. The Buttz Remix was arranged by Layne Stein of Voiceplay. Voiceplay was a competitor on The Sing-Off the same time as Home Free. The two groups became friends during the competition. Home Free, Voiceplay, and Pentatonix are the top three acapella groups They all .were on The Sing-Off. Home Free did Ring of Fire on The Sing-Off which was a turning point of the competition and their career. Later Home Free did it with Avi Kaplan. There are so many choices with Home Free. I think some people suggest The Butts Remix for shock value. Also Nessum Dorma is another shocking video because it is opera. They are so talented and versatile that it's hard to believe one group can sing so many genres flawlessly.

There are so many things going on in this video. I've watched it over a hundred times at this point, and I still find things I didn't see before. For example, the scene after the ham sandwich, Tim is in the back eating the ham sandwich. These guys go from goofy to somber and serious and everything in between. They are obviously good friends, and the music always comes first. No egos in this group. Though I have particular favorites, there's not a song they've done I haven't enjoyed.

I saw your reaction to Brian Justin Crum doing Creep and how you were amazed at his voice control. Now that you are reacting to Home Free you will really need to react to Austin Brown(the tenor that did the last half on Unchained Melody). He has a solo song "Bring Him Home". You will see what he can do and why he is so good with Home Free. If you like Brian Justin Crum you will love Austin after you view this song. I promise you will not be disappointed!!!!!

If you want to hear what Austins voice can really do (you mentioned you like his round sound in Unchained Melody) then you have to watch Home Free's version of When a Man Loves a Woman. I seriously listen to it like once a week. It's freaking amazing! But other favorites are their versions Ring of Fire, End of the Road, Brother in Arms, How Great Thou Art, and Mayday.

Speaking of weird ones check out these bits from their live shows. Guilty Pleasures was a scripted skit done around various songs. The one most likely to come up is the one where the guys got the giggles and went off script, making it funnier but there are several versions. It being done during live shows gives the opportunity to have a slightly different give and take between the group and the audience. BHH + WWTWWS was filmed by an audience member December 2015. It's rather long at 15 minutes, starting with a sweet photo op leading to Austin's song then several short ones, but the heart warming beauty and comedy of it makes it well worth it.

In the future, if you see any of remix, mash-up, or medley in a title, you should expect multiple songs. Also, whoever recommended this without telling you to first watch the original videos for Baby Got Back and Honky Tonk Badonkadonk did you dirty.

Home Free is great not only because of their phenomenal talent but because they don't take themselves too seriously. If you ever see any of their live stuff (videos taken by fans at their concerts), they do have the occasional "derailment" where something goes wrong or someone forgets the lyrics (Austin), and they are the first to laugh at themselves when it happens. The are a lot of behind-the-scenes videos; From The Vault, Home Away From Home, and Tim Eats, that really show their personalities. They can be serious when they need to be, but oh so silly as well.

Whenever you've got one of the more lighthearted songs/videos about half of the video is BTS stuff. Things that weren't planned, but were so funny they had to put it in the finished video. Something else to note that's really cool/sweet: for all the focus on butts in the songs, for all the framing of butts IN the video, you'll notice they never once framed any of the ladies. THEY weren't the focus of the video, the music, and by extension the group, was. Oh, while I'm thinking about it, the 'hamsammich' line you thought was so amusing? Did you take notice of Tim in the background in the next shot?

Just found you the other day and I like what I see. Keep up the good work.I believe all the folks dancing are part of the Home Free family. Absolutely no women’s backsides were recorded for this production. Several of the ladies were/are wives/girlfriends,etc. You should go back and watch it several times in a row to catch all the funny and quirky things that are in this video. I still laugh when I watch it and that means several hundred times.

Members: Cowboy hat- founder/baritone Chris Rupp- left the group, replaced about 6-7 years ago by Adam Chance, known simply as “Chance” to save confusion with beatboxer/founder Adam Rupp (Chris’s brother). Rob Lundquist, tenor, did the rapping segment, also the whistling, at which he is phenomenal. Rob was also classically trained. Austin Brown- high tenor, wearing baseball hat & yellow plaid shirt in this video. Musical theater background. Tim Foust, the legend, bass and whatever else he wants to sing. Amazing range.

Hello, do you know why he isn't in the group anymore, but does on occasion. He still sometimes will singng with the group on their videos? I love that he went solo though and mostly it seems mostly but not all gospel songs that he sings. I have always wondered and really have never read or seen why he went solo. I am kind embarrassed to even ask because It's really not my business, but since you did such a wonderful write up on this amazing band I felt I could ask you and not the band It's self. Thanks and I hope to find out from you by commenting back. Enjoy your weekend 😂

You're doing great with their names!! You'll have them down before long. This video was before Adam Chance joined Home Free. He replaced Chris Rupp, who left Home Free to pursue a solo career. It's Chris Rupp you see in this video. Chris Rupp is Adam Rupp's brother. Adam Rupp is the beat boxer for Home. Austin Brown is the high tenor (although Rob Lundquist, the other tenor can get to those high notes, as well). Austin is the one in the checked brown shirt over a blue t-shirt and baseball cap in this video. Rob Lundquist (tenor) is with sun glasses and sang "I like big butts and I cannot lie...".

In an interview Chris Rupp (black cowboy hat) said this was his pet project. In summary, his sister had worked with a modeling agency and that's where most of the women were from. Since they didn't want to objectify the women, the only 'butts' are theirs. The man in the one-shoulder overalls is 'Beugs', a friend of Rob's. He's in other videos of theirs and co-hosts on Rob's channel.
