HF posted this in April 2020, with the comment, "In this uncertain time, there are so many brave people teaching us each day about real sacrifice. Thank you to those who are sacrificing their strength for others because they don't have enough of their own. This song is for you." It's such a beautiful song, thank you for reacting to it.

It's a misnomer to call Home Free a country band. HF auditioned for the show 'The Sing Off' a few times and did not make the cut. They performed pop at the time. The shows producers stated they needed a different 'hook' for the show. They offered HF the chance to perform as a unique country acapella group. They performed...they won. Subsequently they stayed with the country edge to get known to the public. Their many collaborations were with country acts. Tim has stated many times he did not want to perform country. But you go what pays the bills. In the ensuing years HF, as their fame/ talent has gotten a following, they broke away from being 'country' and set forth their talent in numerous genres. So let's recall the collective abilities of Home Free. -- 5 lead singers -- 5 tenors -- 3 baritones -- 2 bass -- 1 basso profundo -- 5 beat boxers/vocal percussionists -- 1 EXCEPTIONAL beatboxer/drum kit/ vocal percussionist -- 5 guys proficient in various genres: (Pop/Country/R&B/Rock/Gospel/Rap/Blues/Musical theater/Comedy/Holiday/Doo Wop/AND NOW Opera..Opera!!/dancers-in- training 😉 ) Oh, and I would venture to say they present upgrades 'not' covers. Look for Austin's channel. This last week the song reactor channels are innudated with the "Country Boys sing opera" Sample this offering...no other group is as versatile.

Home Free treats all of our senses everytime, smell, taste, touch, hearing and visual with every video/vocal release, they are the full package, and nobody is better about this then Home Free. They really do their homework about capturing every aspect of the human experience with a well thought out gameplan to reach down in our vested inherent emotional souls to embrace our fellow mankind with a very positive experience. Our hearts were tugged today once again by Home Free>>>>>..... ❤🩹

My father has been resting on that mountain since July 4th 1979. I was stationed at Quantico Va.. at the time and had my engine torn down doing a valve job. Two of my brothers came to take me home when my father went to the hospital do to a massive heart attack triggered by cancer. we arrived in Baltimore 15 minutes after he passed. I have always regretted not being there to say goodbye. My father was a WW II Army veteran and the two brothers who came to pick me up were Navy veterans. Another one of my brothers was also a Navy veteran who served in Vietnam. And the tradition goes on, My son was an Army veteran. He served in the Iraq war and the Afghanistan war.

So beautifully sung by Rob with so much emotion that it touches your heart and soul. Because if you can sing as well, as it reaches only to my ears it's not good enough for me. But this is so perfect. Beautiful cover with respect for the original. They just give it a Home Free twist like Tim's piece with Amazing Grace. So good harmonies and great bass in the background .. And then that video, so emotional!! My father came out of the war alive after 4 years in a Japanese camp. Often in isolation. With the help of a fellow inmate, he survived. But it still bothered him physically and mentally. He was hard on us. We were not allowed to show our emotions and weakness, otherwise they would get us. After all, he himself had survived the war that way. In 1969, 3 days before my 6th birthday, he died from the physical effects of the war. He was only allowed to live to be 50 years old. Amazing Grace was sung at his funeral. One of his favorite songs that he often sang as a pastor. By the way, though you may not like opera try Austin Brown and Rob Lundquist on Austins channel: Two country singers try singing opera "Nessun Dorma ".. You"ll be shocked

Years ago in the late 1960's, my father who was career military and had just retired, was at the local VFW on 4th of July. He was cornered by a reporter, and was asked, how could you go and fight wars. Why would you do this?. He stood up and in his Sargent's voice, said - " I did it so idiots like you can ask stupid questions like that" she had no further comments. It made it to TV that evening, one of my favorite memories of my father. Your comments about veterans at the end, reminded me of that day.

Unfortunately some people can't differentiate their hatred for war from their hatred of the men and women that fought them. They need to realize, that no one like wars, but they happen, sometimes fought for a very good cause. And for that cause, the men and women that served, sometimes came home damaged mentally, physically, or not at all. Giving their lives for the betterment of others. There is no greater sacrifice that to give your life so others can live.

A lot of people claim to not like “Country Music”, and perhaps think it unsophisticated and “hokey”. Some of it may be, yet what other genre can reach the inner, true, emotions of your soul? Some may focus on “the beat”, the rime, how much vulgarity can be used, but nothing can get to you like a song that goes straight to the heart. That is funny, reflective, or heart wrenching Country.

I honor our military all branches. My husband is retired military. I am grateful for my freedoms.
I can't count the times I have heard this song and it always brings tears to my eyes. Rob's voice is something special.
Vince Gill the person who wrote this and sang it wrote this for his brother after his death. I have had two children pass away and had this played at both of their funerals. It breaks me every time I hear it.

Jesus… I am very sorry. Good lord, how are you still going? I don’t know if I could handle something like that.
I picked this song to be played at my mom's celebration of life after she passed on June 16th of this year
Now you need to check out "Two country singers try to sing opera". its found on Austin Brown's channel. Just so you will know they are not just country! Austin and Rob will surprise you even if you don't like opera like me.
With the direction America is heading now, I take a minute to be thankful for each cup of coffee or walk in nature or hug from a loved one in case each moment like these are the last ones we will have.
These guys can make you roll on the floor laughing, but on the other hand when they come out with something like this it just hits you right in the pit of your stomach.
Song has so much meaning to so many people
Another really meaningful one from HomeFree is In the Blood
Vince Gill wrote this song for his brother who passed away. He has such a pure voice, it is beautiful
That’s their brilliance - not only picking and performing the songs, but making you really feel them. Thank you for that honest, beautiful reaction.
My brother passed September 25th last year. Tonight, they are playing in my home town. Exactly 1 year later. I wanted to take my son, but he had such a strong attachment to his uncle...couldn't do it. But I'm watching your reaction. Wow!

I know the military flag ritual all to well. I was USAF honor guard for 2 years in the early 1970’s, covered Oklahoma, and parts of Kansas and Texas. This song gets me in the feels every time.
We thank our veterans and their families and friends. ♥️
Never talk about buy lost my son at 29 years young I cry every time I hear this knowing he's an angle is the only reason I'm still here thanks Chris very powerful
As a veteran, both me and my wife appreciate the thanks for serving. I have lost my father and younger brother, both Army vets. We are all proud to serve for this nations freedoms. And far too many, as you noted, take it for granted. Thank you for the recognition and my condolences for your loss.
Home Free has always been very patriotic in not just their music with their actions with free concerts for veterans and mutch more. I love Vince's original but Home Free has a way of putting there own spin on things. Great reaction brother.
Actually Vince Gill starting writing this song for Keith Whitley after Keith passed away in 1989 and didn't finish writing it until 1993 when his brother passed away. If you want to watch an even more emotional version, watch Vince try to sing this at George Jones' tribute after he passed.

That video of Vince singing at George's funeral has to be one of the most heartbreaking videos that exists! You can feel the grief and the love Vince had for George! I've only watched it a few times because I cry every time this song is played, always have. But the one for George Jones absolutely breaks me. I sob and sob until I can't breathe. And my heart breaks for Vince.

@@chrismorin1318 I'm the same way Chris. It's so good but heartbreaking.
My late husband died at 47 years old. He had a beautiful baritone voice and sang many church solos. The second verse…”wish I could see the angels faces when they hear your sweet voice sing” always makes me think of him.
Vince Gill wrote such a beautiful song and Home Free more than did it justice! I hope that you will react to Home Free's version of "Take Me Home Country Roads". It's nothing like the one you already reacted to. It's a perfect blend of country/gospel/r&b. Home Free waited for about 5 yrs. before they recorded it - they wanted to make sure the arrangement was perfect. It was/is. Thanks Chris! 🖤🍟

I have listened to Home Free's rendition of this song many times and rarely have I been so shaken by a reactors response. It amazes me that HF can evoke such varied emotions as they do over all the different genres they perform. Hope this makes some sense. Be well.
Try “In The Blood” its another outstanding song by them, it’s a John Mayer cover
Beautiful ❤😢 thanks to all who have served and a special prayer for the ones who didn’t come home and their families 🥰🥰🥰
My daddy was a WW2 veteran, and we played this at his memorial service. I sent my first-born son to Iraq with the Corps in '03, and prayed constantly until he came home. I cry every time I hear it. This is a gorgeous rendition.
I absolutely love this song! It just makes me cry every single time I hear it now, because it was played at my mothers funeral! But, also because my husband was in the military and he was almost sent out at 9/11 and I’m so thankful that he wasn’t! I couldn’t have stood to know that if he would have went to have that LAST KISS! We have been married almost 26 years and I’m absolutely so thankful for him!💝😢💝😢💝😢💝😢💝😢
In my opinion, our service people do not get the respect they deserve these days! God bless all of them, Amen!
My father was a WWII navy veteran, but would never talk about it. Shortly before he passed, he finally told us about his experiences. Then I understood his silence. This song brings back his passing and the stories he told. Not once of the many times watching this, have I been able to hold back the tears. God bless our veterans and all who serve.

I had arrived about 15 minutes late to be with my father when he passed and it can really eat at you with guilt, but you can't hang onto that as you and I weren't meant to be there for reasons we may not understand. I'm so grateful for your military family. Blessings to you my friend.
Oh Larry. You've missed Austin and Rob (on Austin 's channel) doing opera! Soooo good! Tim's new release one he wrote, The Rest of My Heart. Oh soooo good. This Vince Gil song, tears me up also. Here's a tissue!
One of my favorite Home Free songs!❤
I'm 73 and asked this be played at my Celebration Of Life. No shame in breaking down. I do it every time I hear this. Just shows you are human and that's a good thing.
This is a tough one. So honored for our soldiers.❤️
So beautiful.
Your reaction to this is how it should be when listening to something as beautiful and meaningful as this song. Thank you for sharing and for allowing us to be apart of your emotional reaction.
I get very emotional when i hear this song. Me and 2 of my childhood friends went in the service at the same time, we were just kids from the neighborhood. Barely 19 years old pretty much fresh out of high school. They didn't come home alive. I have been saddened since 1968. God love you Tony and Gary we were just kids.

Yes! That video by Austin & Rob is SUPERB!!! I’m not crazy about opera, but it was crazy good! Blew me away! This song was beautiful when Vince Gill put it out, & HF definitely did it justice. I played it at my Dad’s funeral, & it was played at a few of my uncles’ funerals, too. All were either retired military or war veterans. Dad served 23 years. What I would do to have him here with me today, but I know he’s in a better place & no longer hurting or struggling to breathe. ❤😢

I know that you don't like opera, but you ought to check out Rob and Austin in Two Country Singers Try Opera. They do a performance of Nessum Dorma. It's short and sweet. Their performance might surprise you. They seem to be reaching a whole new audience.

This song should make Americans be thankful for their freedoms do to the sacrifice made by other Americans. So glad that you are covering more Home Free. You got to hear double bass from Tim and Chance. I really think you would love Mayday. There's a few surprises in that song. Great reaction Chris

I've never seen it put better into words! Thank you. 👍
Was played at my great grandmother and my grandfather’s funerals. Still can’t listen to it without it stirring up all the feels. This is the first home free song I like better than the previous version familiar to me. The bass (you understand Chris) just hits me.
I always get goosebumps when they sing songs like this. Check out their version of How Great Thou Art. Adam even sings a verse in it. I was fortunate enough to see them in Stockton last week. They were simply amazing.
This is a hard one to watch - a tribute not only to the song and the sentiment but also to the video Home Free created as well. As a group, Home Free always seems to have the highest of video production values and it really adds to their releases.
Breaking down? You showed more strength than me! And your words were so heartfelt.....They ring an especially loud bell with me as I recently buried my 96 y/o dad, veteran of WW-II...survived by his three sons, also veterans...Vietnam era.
Thank you Larry🇺🇸‼️🇺🇸

You aren't the first one to be moved by this Home Free cover of this Vince Gill song, myself included. You should check out a Vince Gill live performance of this song. Very moving, both versions.
I have veterans in my family. Thankfully, we haven’t lost any but my grandfather was injured. It’s such a beautiful song. Loved Amazing Grace in the middle. Your emotion was powerful. Music can do that. Great reaction! 😪
Vince Gill wrote this for his brother. Check out his version Patty Loveless. Bring Kleenex. Home Free really does this well.
Thoughtful reaction, Chris. This is a really tough one. Have learned to expect it'll be a heart breaker with each listen. Home Free is amazing with this song but find, when coupled with the video, to be just too overwhelming. Still very emotional, but I prefer their 'Church Sessions' version which is just the guys, their beautiful voices, sitting in a church. The 'church organ' effect of Home Free's five-part harmonies is stunningly soul-stirring.
I did warn you to bring tissues. Makes me tear up every time, but it is so beautiful. Thanks for doing this.

I’ve never heard home free’s version but man this song is so sad.
This is a truly beautiful reaction, Chris. Home free have a way of evoking so many emotions, they are a very gifted group of artists. It’s funny, but I have the same attitude to country music that you do…I’m not much of a fan, but sometimes a group comes along which changes your mind. Home free is one group…another for me are Poor Man’s Poison. I listen to them constantly at the moment and would love to hear your opinion on them. They have so many great songs, but “Give and Take” is what drew me to them. Please react to them for me, Chris. Thank you 😊
The Amazing Grace part of this song was added by Home Free but it fits in very well. Notice the lack of beat boxing.
Your comments while reviewing the video touched me deeply. I served during the Vietnam era when anyone in uniform was given a hard time. My father served in WWII and Korea. A grandfather served in WWI. Only lately have people started thanking me (a woman Marine) for my service. I still think ‘where were your thanks back then?’

Doesn't get any better! Keep going. HF has so many more beautiful, fun, amazing songs. I love Mom, Everything will be Okay, Woman Amen/Female, To the Moon and Back, One Man Band, God Blessed the Broken Road, Ain't Going Down Til The Sun Comes up. Even if you don't like country, you'll love these.
Two bass guys sure do make an impact. Great reaction Larry
To take it for granted, they have never lost a loved one to war. I personally hope they never have to have that knowledge. But it is a story that needs to be told and retold and honored lest we forget what the cost of freedom truly is. It didn't come cheap.
So glad you got to this amazing song although I could tell it was hitting you pretty hard. I felt the same way when I first heard Vince Gill sing this but it really hits me hard hearing HomeFree perform this because I know how they especially honor our Veterans. I had an uncle who went to the service World WarII and is MIA. Left a bride of only 2 months. Vocals absolutely beautifully done.😪
I don’t know how the group could sing this without crying; I wonder how many “takes” they had to do to finish this video.
Thank you for reacting to this beautiful song by the guys. It is a tough one for sure. I was lucky when my husband made it home. Sometimes beautiful music brings you to your knees. As you wrote...A life celebrated. Thank you.
He came back but his brother didn't. This is so sad, but I like that Home Free chose to do this and give this all too real feeling with their vocals and it was beautiful and done respectfully.
