Home Free is such a class act! They always pay homage to the artists that paved the way. I 'm near 70 years old and I've followed the Oaks since the 60's, Kenny since the 60's, Alabama since the late 70's and Home free since 2013! Vocal harmony is my passion, and they all satisfy that in me whenever I hear them sing! Your channel has invigorated this old man because I see the same passion in you! They sounded great together 😊 Home Free was supposed to preform this on The Tonight Show with Kenny but they were so unlucky with flights being cancelled as much as they tried it unfortunately didn’t happen by the time they got there it was to late but they did get to spend time with Kenny backstage. After Kenny passed they guys recorded The Gambler as a tribute to him.

I think this is the video that made a Home Fry of my mama, who loves Kenny w/ Dolly or Lionel Ritchie. Her other favorite is "Two Country Singers Try to Sing Opera," on Austin Brown's channel. It's Austin and Rob Lundquist being amazing.

The earliest recording of this song was in 1936, so many people have done it my two favorites are this one and Tennesse Ernie Ford on a Christmas special and it so different from this one. Enjoy

How many times have we heard, "Didn't expect that!" from a Home Free reactor? With video after video - so many surprising things from HF. With Tim's standing bass imitation and Adam's drum kit, it is far too easy to forget there are no separate instruments. I still have to remind myself time after time.

I knew you would love this amazing confluence of talents! Being classically trained (and biased), I didn't enjoy country music until Home Free turned it upside down for me in 2013. There were a few exceptions -- Kenny Rogers, Willy Nelson and Dolly Parton always got replays. So this is, hands down, one of my favorite Christmas songs! Your uncle was a lucky man. I've been a fan of Kenny sice he was with the First Edition.

I first heard this song done by Ralph Stanley of Bluegrass fame. This version absolutely rocks! Kenny's best vocal himself IMO.

Kenny had that special sound quality, very unique, that would instantly identify him in a song even if you don’t see him! This was indeed special! They definitely put a Home Free spin on it but at the same time kept it classic! Sometime after Christmas you will have to listen to their remake, with Don McClain, of American Pie. Don also heard them and he wanted to remake it all these years later cause it still fits! Great reaction Red, enjoyed it! Low bass Kenneth

My Kenny Rogers experience, started with Ruby. Then with Dolly, who was MY first crush, for two very good reasons. I’ve been a Homefry for a while and they are so fun. Performed this song with a few different choirs, last one we had ten part harmony. Ok my ginger friend(I’m a ginger too)time to get busy with some Pentatonix Christmas music, you won’t be sorry. They’ve won 3 Grammy Awards, so they must be doing something right.

This is a fairly old song. Not sure who did it originally, but I have heard versions by the likes of Johnny Cash and the Carter Family from at least 50 years back.

When I was little, my grandparents gave me a two cassette set of Kenny Rogers put out by Readers Digest of all things. I listened to it so many times I warped it only to find Grandma had ordered a backup. 😂 Loving watching you become a Home Fry. Happy Christmas. 🎄

A great song! Another country song people tend to miss because it was released on Facebook instead of KZread is a cover of "Ain't going down" till the sun comes up. A bit different for HF in that it's fast and loud but Sooo good.

Back in '83, I started my 1st real job working for a menswear manufacturer In Dallas who was the maker of the jackets for the Kenny Rogers Collection. I actually got to meet him every year when he would visit to check out the new line of jackets for that year. Thanks to my employee discount (applied to the entirety of the collection, not just what we made), I was decked out, head to almost toe in Kenny Rogers branded clothing. Except his boots. I owned a couple pair but I've never been a fan of cowboy boots.

Christmas in Dixie with Alabama!

Beautiful song. As always, the boys are great and Kenny sounds great too. His voice held up over time. Now, I don't want to get anyone upset and hate-bombing me but I will never understand how anyone can believe in immaculate conception. Hopefully, no one literally believes it anymore.

He didnt stop making music its just the new country radio statuons wouldnt play it. I heard this when it came out on a country oldes station. Most all the new country mustic sounds like pop and soft rock of the late 60's. Like Allen Jackson said they killed country music. In my opinion it died when they cut the western off the name.
