My dog kept having either severe allergic reactions or severe stomach upset/diarrhea from dog foods. I tried over 40 brands before giving up and just cooking her home made food. She has no allergies, no vomiting or diarrhea with homemade.

I have become a very big fan of yours and I am starting to cook for my dog by following your videos. When you cook that 1/2 chicken with potato and green beans what temp to you set your crock pot and how long to you cook it! My mother had a poodle that she fed only Italian food to and also coffee. I told her that she was hurting her dog, the dog lived a healthy 18 years !Thanks doc for all you do!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! GRRR, ARR, AROO (that,s Charlie dog sayin thanx!) I've been doing something similar his whole life (9yrs) . Chicken breast, stock, plus all the vegies you mention. However, I was using about 50% kibble cause I didn't want to miss any essentials. The info you provided will allow us to tell Pedigree to stuff it (plus I heard it too may be made in China!) One thing you might have added to make this video purfect is a word of caution to the ambitious owner - all the things that Shouldn't go in! Onion, garlic, potatoes, and of course chocolate! Now that he,ll be eating even healthier I won't feel so guilty about him having his nightly cigar and highball....

I’m not sure if this is the same as BARF food, but it sounds like it. I fed my dog BARF from the moment I got him (recommended by his trainer and vet). He was on it for 5 years when problems started. By this time I was with a new vet who ran some tests and found out he was suffering from early stage Rickets. So I switched the dog to high quality dog food for dogs with allergies (just in case). Within a few weeks he was much better and quite in love with his new food. My vet said that he had seen this before in other dogs on the same type of diet. This happened 15 years ago and there wasn’t much info out there on how to make dog food. I’m curious if anyone has had similar problems, or if thing have changed?

I usually just watch your videos but I have a question. Just wanted to know if you new a holistic vet somewhere close to San Francisco. I usually go to San Francisco vet specialist which are wonderful people just to pricey for me right now. They did do a wonderful job with my 12 year old rotti. I now have a rescue and searching out a VET. Thanks if you know of a good one.

Hello Dr. Martinez. I have a question for you and I'd love it if you could answer it. My cat (she's 4 months old) was extremely sick. I believe she found a puddle of shampoo water after I'd given my other cat a shower and before I could clean it. A day later she was seizuring and in few hours became extremely dehydrated. I took her to the vet and he gave her cortisone, atropine and vitamin B, plus some antibiotics just in case. She is now under Gardénal, an antiepileptic, and her seizures are very rare, triggered mostly by fear or stress. After she got better I noticed that she can't meow. It has faded away and you can only hear a bit towards the end. Could this be an after effect of the seizures (they are extremely mild now by the way, almost as if she stops recognizing anyone and shakes in fear for a minute or so, and then goes back to normal) or should I be concerned? there is no palpable growth on her neck, and other than the seizures, hasn't suffered from anything else.

Hi, I have a 6 month old standard poodle. When I got her the breeder put her on Taste of the Wild Boar, dry kibble. I got some taste of the Wild chicken wet food and suddenly had a vomiting puppy. The vet I saw said I was using too many proteins. I stopped and until yesterday she had not vomited in a month. If I make your food do you think it will be ok for her sensitive tummy? Thank you.

Let me ask you this: what do Wild dogs and or Wolves eat in the wild? It’s raw, that’s what’s best BUT many ppl are squimish about giving raw as it seems so unnatural to us (even though it wasn’t always) or dogs with autoimmune diseases may be more susceptible to parasites, etc. However, a dogs digestive tract is built to ingest it, digest it and poop it out quick removing time from parasites getting established
