I grew up here. Lived in the 4 story walk-up building on B. 36th St. and Beach Channel Drive from 1966-1974. If anyone has any pictures of that building please post them. My heart aches to see it again! Thanks for the vid!

Saw my first movie in the strand a pirate movie. Last movie I saw there was easy rider.

I remember the Chinese restaurant you had to go upstairs used to go there all the time I I also remember Woolworths down the block used to go shopping and eat launch at the center I remember the movie theater I remember Gino's pizza place I remember the diner before they tore it down and placed a McDonald's in the restaurant place and close by was a veterinarian place used to bring my dog's for check ups I remember close by Jack in the box used to go there for hamburgers that was there before McDonald's I remember the supermarket I can't recall the name but I think it started with a w it was in a plaza across from the Mott Avenue train station in that plaza was a restaurant used to eat there and the shoe store that was also a shoe repair shop used to go there as a kid these things are not there no more I forgot the record stop got my records there they will always be in my memory just like beach 9th and the food place I called the place pops because of a grandfather ran the place then you had your team of scabadivers and the places on the boardwalk lucky got to know them because they tore them down before I was a teenager still a kid
