Because just as lightning comes out of the East and shows itself in the West, so will the coming of the Son of man. "Immediately after the tribulation of those days" ‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the celestial powers will be shaken '. “Then the sign of the Son of man will appear in heaven, and all the nations of the earth will mourn and see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. Since everything will be undone like this, what kind of people do you need to be? Live in a holy and pious way, waiting for the day of God and hastening his coming from him. On that day the heavens will be broken by fire, and the elements will melt with heat. However, according to his promise of it, we expect new heavens and a new earth, where justice dwells. Therefore, beloved, while waiting for these things, strive to be found by him in peace, immaculate and blameless. Keep in mind that our Lord's patience means salvation, as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you, with the wisdom that God has given you. 2 Peter 3: 3-15
