How can this band not be popular as other worldly bands. They just sing for purpose a and love Jesus. And there music is awesome and lyrics great. Just pure Metal.

It's because many metalheads hate Christianity, for some reason. So they automatically hate on every Christian metal band, regardless of their quality.

Nah, it's because in the 80s the only way to get your music out there was through labels and they didn't view this as marketable. That was part of the reason most 80s bands had a shtick/ gimmick. This was also at the end of the main stream love of this kind of heavy metal.

So blessed to have grown up in an era where the music was unbelievably great and the lyrics so strong

This band was so talented. The singing is on point. And those guitars are ripping

My dad is friends with Steven Patrick. I’ve met him when I was in high school. My dad owned a coffee shop in Kayenta, Az, on the Navajo Reservation. He was present during one of the rock shows my dad held. He is such a nice man.

No one can listen to this song and say it isn't great! This has got to be one of the greatest Christian Metal song of all time!

28 years later and I am still rocking out to this band! I was a youth pastor when this music was coming out and would crank it up at our youth events at NRG Youth (No Religious Garbage).

It's an excellent band

This was one of my favorite albums back in the day. My friend is working on a documentary about how this music changed our lives and Holy Soldier is featured as others. Great Work man!

I once owned the compact cassette version of Holy Soldiers "Holy Soldiers" which I bought it from a boy from our own town who returned from the States, who went to the States as one of the members of northeast India Children's Choir, sponsored and guided by Bibles for the World, Illinois..as technology progressed, I could not play the compact cassette anymore as my cassette player was damaged which I replaced the same with a CD player..I was looking for the CD version of this album but could not find it anywhere in the country where I lived. Thank you for uploading this very album on KZread...wherever you are and whoever you are, thank you so much for keeping the records on KZread..thanks a lot. Love from northeast India -- Churachandpur, Manipur, India. I always wanna listen to this particular album of Holy Soldiers. Thank you once again.

I remember when I heard these guys and saw this video in the nineties. I was 14 and did not know English. but I liked the song. Now there is the internet and returned to listening to this song, I really was impressed their acting and lyrics. really that great message.

may have come out in 1990, but it is still 80's to me. it came out during the 80's/90's transitional period where some music/artist(s) were still coming out and from the 80's. thanks for the video upload, Andy Robbins.

I get what you mean by "transition period." I've noticed that the early 90's were a very unique period of time because you still had many rock artists performing in the "80's" style but there were new elements being mixed in.

GrantH, agee, also, some of the artists' music wasn't released until the next decade or a single or two was released in the 80's but the album wasn't released until the 90's too.

They had a few rough cut demo's in the mid 80's, but didn't release their debut album till 89.

I saw them in 1992 at a church/music venue called King's Place in Ohio...the drummer was insane. Like Shannon Larkin times ten. They were really awesome...

Your Album Last Train was the first album I owned and picked from the store that wasn't one of my dads, Randy Stonehill or Larry Norman albums......I was 7 years old Im 31 now lol long time ago! I played that album more than any other all throughout my childhood.....and sparked my love of metal! It seriously has sentimental place in my heart so happy to find you here, often wondered what happened with the members..........I lost the cassette many years ago, and Im looking forward to taking a trip down memory lane and listening again! So awesome!! :)

I saw these guys live in Santa Ana, CA in the early nineties. This guy puts on an outstanding show. He will jump off the stage. But if you notice the drummer is elevated with a gong behind him (think that's what it is or some type of huge cymbal) He does a solo during their performance using plastic bats and hits that behind his head. It was something of a drum solo.They had an outstanding drummer. When I saw them the lead singer came out in all leather with a leather long coat. They were really popular and really good.

Mike, The drummer was not Robert, but Holy Soldier were friends with Stryper. They had the same financial backer that Stryper had in the early days. The drummer is named Terry.

I know Steven Patrick. Although he goes by joe now. Hes a pastor for The church of the living dead. He is a super dope guy who is on fire for Jesus. Hes just a real humble dude. He told me even though what they did was for the glory of God, it still does things to ya..

Back in the day they rented a storage facility in So Cal that my ex-husband was a district manager of and when they came in the manager and I would say "Holy Soldier, Holy Cow". Gorgeous to look at and wonderful to listen to.
