So much I could say. I spent an entire career in transportation over 30 years from being a lowly dock worker to VPO of a publicly held Fortune 500 company (FoxMeyer Group) then owner of my own trucking company. I've done everything there is to do in trucking except turn a wrench. It was a good living, later GREAT living and I was able to retire at 50 and never look back. I would simply say in as far as the driver mindset goes, it's totally different one than when I was a young man hooking doubles and triples down the road, what I expected from the company and what they expected from me. Specifically to federal compliance, random drug & alcohol tests, etc. They are MANDATED by FMCSA and out of the control of the company. If you use drugs you're in the wrong profession and if you can't make it Monday to Friday without booze you're a GD alcoholic and again, in the wrong profession. Stop crying about it FFS.

No pre-employment drug screen or even post accident drug screens at my employer. They stopped testing once they realized they couldn’t get any help.

No post accident truck test, don’t put your companies name out there they should be fined and have their authority revoked.

They will replace owner-operators with Mexican owner-operators. Smart. Mark my words you'll see it.

SWIFT was a laughing stock company to mention by name when I started driving in 2007. Apparently they still are a joke company to work with/for however you want to say it.

As soon as I heard 2k miles I knew that wasn't enough. I'm a body man so I'm not in the loop but i dated a gal and her dad was a truck driver back in the day so I knew that wasn't going to cut it. I also know the cost of gas fluids and parts for your rigs are exponential. Thank you sir for your endless hours and days of deliveries for the American people. We need you

I would say most of yall need a raise. Alot of my family has CDLs and have driven various trucks but none support a family with it currently. Last one who did was my grandfather 50/60 years ago for BW. Just sounds like companies are being hostile/unsupportive of their drivers.

Your company screwed up, they can only tell you 2 hours ahead. They should be fined $10,000 for doing that. If your working for Swift it’s because your a bad driver.

Do you have your own authority? If you do not you are running as a "Lease" operator, fancy word for "renting" a truck and trailer, all lease operator run under the companies authority and that means you have to go by the companies rules and the fed's rules , hence the "random" drug test you were pulled off the road for, I find it odd that Swift did not do the testing on site and not through a 3rd party. I have been rolling as an O/O with my own authority for 20 years and I have never rolled a 2100 mile week in that time, 6k a week in miles is my normal, falls below that and my truck gets parked, I'll grab a dumper and go local, that will pay the bills plus. The next trick is going to be the new ruling from the fed's; that will change every lease owner back into company drivers, if it holds up, so keep your ears and eyes open. Be safe and keep the rubberside down and rolling.

That’s crazy. Are you delivering to NY? Just seeing how the truckers are boycotting. I’m sure you could make some serious cash delivering to NY right now.
