Yep, we're seeing the same thing here in SE Virginia, fish on the nests, and ocean-going yachts passing through from Florida to New England. I wish they would demonstrate the ocean-going capabilities of their ship by using the ocean. Our water is so shallow here on the ICW that dragging is the only option unless you're in the channel. With Gilligan running up and down the channel, it is not the place to be. Thanks for the video and tips.

Planer boards are for if you’re drifting or trolling bait they will attach to your line and pull away from the boat to a certain degree to prevent your lines from all eventually dragging directly behind you. Basically they keep your lines out to the side of your boats trail. Helps you to cover more water and keep your lines from tangling

If I were to buy a new, or new to me boat, I’d search high and low for a SeaArk. They are the best made production boat on the market. Second choice would probably be an Express. Both boats have really good beams. The SeaArk will be more stable because of the hull design. Vexus makes a good aluminum boat but they have real issues turning at idle speed. I know it sounds strange but I work for MLF and we have guys that run them. They all complain about it. But it’s their only complaint. Another good option is Crestliner. When John Cox won the Forrest Wood Cup in 2016 on Wheeler lake, most of the footage was shot from my boat. I had to follow him for a ridiculous distance in the shallow backwater creeks. I was in a new Ranger 521C (my staff boat) and he was in a Crestliner. Let’s just say I’m glad I got a new boat every year. He was literally ramping logs and I had to follow him. Pucker factor 10.
