Hello and what would you say if this mass is re sacrificing Jesus like a Romanist mass. Yes it is beautiful and timeless

ImagesByDavid Jesus told us to proclaim his death until he comes by re-enacting what he did at the last supper,,,his death was a sacrifice,,,,when Jesus sat at the table at the supper it was a fore shadow of his death but when we do it it is done after the fact. The priest stands in his place repeating what he did at the last supper. I personally dont see a problem with the Romanists attempting to describe the tradition of the liturgy as a sacrifice after the fact. Jesus told us to do it. If they believe in the real presence of Jesus in the bread and wine they are believing what Jesus said This is my body and this is my blood. They believe Jesus is present and he said he would be present wherever two or more are gathered together in his name,,,we all believe that dont we? So why do protestants make such a big deal of the Roman liturgy and attack it? The Latin liturgy is beautiful but the protestants call it blasphemy,,,,,,could it be that the actual sacrifice is a once for all sacrifice but we were told to re-enact it for a reason,,Jesus told us to proclaim his death by re-enacting what he did at the last supper ,,, like it or not it was a foreshadowing of a sacrifice and now its a reenactment of a sacrifice,,,

@@8elionadvancing884 Greetings brother. What do you think about confessional lutherans? Aside from the apostolic succession view differences, are we also around christ in the lord's supper? I feel blessed of believing in the real presence and I do believe, as you quote Jesus words "two or more are united in my name". May our Lord Jesus Christ protect you syrian brothers.

@Chrissy Margo. This is a very ancient liturgical rite; the music being sung is totally different than what one would hear in a Western Church, Catholic or Protestant (or even in Greek and Russian Orthodox Churches of today) where major and minor scales and tertian harmony are use. The scales and modes that are used here are Middle-eastern and incorporate quarter-tones. Undoubtedly the kind of singing that Jesus heard, and presumably took part in, sounded very much like this.

This is the Syriac Orthodox Church. The Syriac Orthodox Church is part of the Oriental Orthodox communion along with the Coptic, Armenian, Ethiopian, Eritriean and Malankara churches. It is not part of the Eastern Orthodox communion of Greeks, Arabs and Slavs. The church India (i.e Malankara) adopted the Syriac liturgy and you can see similar liturgy in India. In 1931 a very small group borke off from the Indian (Malankara) Syriac Church and joined with Rome; they are called Syro-Malankara.

This video displays the presentation of the Holy Mysteries according to Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch celebrated by H.E. Mor Severius Malki Murad. What is Orthodoxy? The Orthodox Church Is evangelical, but not Protestant. It is orthodox, but not Jewish. It is catholic, but not Roman. It is not non-denominational, it's pre-denominational. It has been believed, taught, preserved, defended, and died for. It is the Faith that has established the universe. Proclaiming the Truth since 34 AD.

Where did Jesus ever say that he didn't like the temple? I believe he drove the merchants out of the temple because of his love for it! "Zeal for Your house will consume me," and all that.

Jesus' one is a form of Western Aramaic, (including the Syriac spoken in Malula and other parts of Syria, and most if not all forms of Aramaic spoken in Palestine)

This mass is the same as the qurbana in Malankara orthodox churches in India. You may not understand much but you may enjoy it. The similarity and use of Aramaic/Syriac in church services is another evidence of migration of Jews/early Christians to India after destruction of the second temple. These people still follow their traditions and keep their identity in India with few Hindu customs.

@@georgecherian6520 The only group that went a different direction is the Marthoma Church, since they have accepted the Anglican/Protestant theology. Other than that, this West Syriac tradition was brought to Malankara by the Jacobite Church from Antioch.

@@georgecherian6520 That is an incorrect statement. I am an ex-Marthomite and I used to assist in the Holy Qurbana. The Qurbana Kramam that the Marthomites use in comparison to the Holy Qurbono that Syriac Orthodox, Indian Orthodox, Thozhiyur and Syro Malankara uses is different. The Marthoma version is a revised one based on Anglican-Protestant theology. The most Syriac I've heard in a Marthoma Qurbana is "barekh'mor" and "Hoso wab'koolsuban l'olmin" and those are used sparingly. I don't know of one Marthoma achen who can read and write Syriac, like the achens in the Jacobite and Indian Orthodox Churches. CSI Church is in full communion with the Marthoma Church; both Churches are within the Anglican communion - they share the same theology.
