I wish you well Guilherme... but why in the name of all that is Holy did you do that? Eastern Catholicism may be less of a mess than Roman Catholicism (no replacement of the Altar with a coffee table from Ikea) but it is a dim, grey reflection of the beauty and joy of Orthodoxy. Pray for me.

@@britishsubject8722 Half of my Byzantine Parish is former orthodox who loved the liturgical traditions and simply wanted the fullness of being a part of the Church Jesus Christ established.The beauty and joy of orthodoxy with the joy of fulfilment of Catholicism. Tertullian “[T]he Lord said to Peter, ‘On this rock I will build my Church, I have given you the keys of the kingdom of heaven [and] whatever you shall have bound or loosed on earth will be bound or loosed in heaven’ [Matt. 16:18-19]. . . . Upon you, he says, I will build my Church; and I will give to you the keys, not to the Church” (Modesty 21:9-10 [A.D. 220]). St.Cyprian of Carthage “The Lord says to Peter: ‘I say to you,’ he says, ‘that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church.’ . . . On him [Peter] he builds the Church, and to him he gives the command to feed the sheep [John 21:17], and although he assigns a like power to all the apostles, yet he founded a single chair [cathedra], and he established by his own authority a source and an intrinsic reason for that unity. Indeed, the others were that also which Peter was [i.e., apostles], but a primacy is given to Peter, whereby it is made clear that there is but one Church and one chair. I converted to the traditional Roman Catholic Faith 40 years ago from Orthodox Judaism. Because Traditional Latin Masses were at the time hard to find, I discovered a Byzantine Catholic parish and never looked back. I had a friend years ago who was Russian Orthodox who tried to convert me, but I refused for 3 reasons: Orthodoxy is a schismatic church that broke off from the Catholic Church in 1054 AD; the Orthodox brutally persecuted Eastern Rite Catholics in Eastern Europe; and the Orthodox church allows divorces/remarriages in violation of the clear and direct teaching of Christ.

Wish I had a byzantine Church in my area. I’ve grown to love the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom.

What an extraordinarily well done documentary about your parish!! I am glad that you are more than a church. You are a loving community. What more could you ask God for? I am glad too that I saw a few familiar faces there: Fr. Loya (hi from St. Mark's Armenian Catholic Church) and Fr. Custer (we met when I took a class at the seminary in Pittsburgh). God grant them many years.
