    When so many YT creators in the gun world spend the first 20% of the video showing footage of themselves going all Rambo over a grinding guitar soundtrack, it was super refreshing to see a video that went right to work on the task at hand, and stayed there. Thanks for providing a detailed look at the product and being respectful of your audience's time. Well done.

    Same thing for me. The 6MOA dot doesn't starburst like smaller, more intense dots. I think the reason for that is that the LED emitters aren't necessarily larger, but rather project a wider beam than the 2MOA versions. The dot should be a bit less intense than a tiny, concentrated one. That's also why the battery life is quoted to be the same as the 2MOA dot only.

    Interesting, I never thought of that. I'll have to try out some other larger dots and some really small ones to compare. Thanks for watching!

    Excellent review. No BS, right to the "nuts and bolts." I wanted the 407K also, for the same reasons you said you got it. I figured a 6 MOA recticle would help me acquire my target quicker than a 2 MOA but I've read reviews where some guys preferred the other options so I think between the Circle Dot, 2 MOA Dot and the 32 MOA Circle of the 507K I should find something that works OK. But I live in Canada and I think you know what's going on here with Justine Turdhole following his woke agenda as dictated by Klaus Schwab. Nuff about that. Anyway I found a 507K green reflex sight for a really good price and I'm waiting on delivery. I've read a bunch of reviews on the 507K and I believe I'll be able to work with it OK

    Its still pulling daily duty on my carry gun. It gets the hell beat out of it all year round, carried for at least 9 or 10 (and sometimes as many as 16) hours every day and has never missed a beat. I can't say enough about it.

    I completely agree with the astigmatism. I have to shop for the dot, not the brand. My MRO is crisp, but the RMR looks like crap. The 509 looks like a big basketball, but the 407 is spot on.

    Correct. It's no problem though; battery life being rated at 50k hours means like 5 years of continuous on. I change my optic batteries every year too, so I've never had an optic run out of batts on me. Thanks for watching!

    I never understood why you (not you personally but in general) have to re-zero an optic if you remove it and place it back on the gun? It goes in the exactly same spot anyways, should be still zeroed. But regardless, you're right it's nice to be able to change batteries without removing the optic.

  • @PitbullSoco

    Tolerances aren't THAT tight to be a guaranteed zero. It would most likely be within realistic ccw range but never hurts to make sure it's dead nuts zeroed

    what plate plate did you use? Also did you have to buy some longer screws for the optic to mount on the slide?

  • @realpracticaltactical

    @realpracticaltactical

    6 ай бұрын

    The Shield slide you see was milled just for the 407k so it's a direct mount, and the screws are what came with the optic. In general though, if you're not getting like 4 or more turns of engagement on your screws you'll want longer ones. Thanks for watching!

  • @realpracticaltactical

    @realpracticaltactical

    Great questions. The 407k and 507k are the same in terms of dimensions and most (basically all) specs. The difference is that the 507k has multiple reticles that you can choose from: just a 2moa dot, a 32moa big circle, or a 32moa big circle with a 2moa dot in the middle. It's also usually like 50 bucks more expensive. (The 407k only has one reticle available, a simple dot in either 2moa or 6moa like mine) Both are great choices. Thanks for watching!

  • @realpracticaltactical

    The Shield Plus slid is very close to the standard shield slide, so this will look/fit very similarly on the Plus. I don't own any optic-ready M&Ps so I'm not 100 percent sure if it will need an adapter plate; my slide was cut specifically for this optic. Best bet to assume it will, though. Thanks for watching!

    The Shield 45 slide you see in the video wasn't optics ready from the factory, and I had it milled specifically for the Holosun "k" footprint that the 407k / 507k / EPS Carry etc use. If you have a newer Shield Plus, you would want to use either a Holosun specific plate, or otherwise a slightly modified RMRcc plate would work too. Thanks for watching!
