after certain level you can start gaining a gauge everytime you attack or get attacked the gauge is yellow and is right below your HP once it's full, you can press your attack button and special button at the same time and hold it for a short time to use them It's very limited with how slow the gauge charges though so use it wisely or just get the item that lets you slowly regenerate the bar automatically.
