Everyone should watch Charlie Chaplin's The Great Dictator. He first made it unaware how bad Hitler really was...by the end of filming he knew and said he would not have made the movie had he known the truth. In the last scene as the Dictator he makes a heartfelt speech completely out of character, as himself. It is even more relevant today. The movie is a gem.

1:05:05 "Only 2 anti-Nazi films were made before the war". Where do I begin with this? Confessions of a Nazi Spy was 1939, released prior to Sept. '39., but Chaplin's the Great Dictator was filmed 9 September 1939 - 2 October 1940, certainly during the war, and released in 1941 almost 2 years into the war. So I assume they're referring to US entry into the war. Actually ”Hitler’s Reign of Terror", premiered in 1934. So maybe they mean films that were released by a major Hollywood studio prior to Dec, 7, 1941. Well certainly then The Man I Married by 20th Century Fox in 1940 qualifies. The Mortal Storm qualifies. There are other examples, so saying only 2 films qualify is incorrect info.

Here is what I do not understand about the Jewish Moguls. All of them grew up oppressed. Who better than them should understand what it feels like even more than the rest of the American men and women at that time. Their history was one of severe oppression. They had the chance when they made movies, They called the shots and did not have to feature black men and women like a second class citizens shining shoes and subject to the lower echelon jobs. And yes although that was true at that time. More than any other people the moguls knew the power of film and how it can stereo type citizens when presented that way. They invented the film industry, So had they just put black citizens in jobs that did not stereo type them, I believe things would be better as far as civil rights and the whole 9 yards.

I did a lot of odd jobs in college in California 40 years ago. and met many people who had worked in props, costumes, lighting & such in the old studios. It wasn't just all the actors and actresses; the old system kept all kinds of people employed, even in the Depression. They were proud of what they helped to create, too, I loved their stories.

Crazy to gloss over what is clear exploitation of black actors, culture, and music. Got to be honest.

One thing it did not point out that as Hitler rose in Germany that they were told NO MOVIES would promote Jewish themes/actors etc if they wanted to have movies distributed in Germany or other Nazi controlled areas. Jewish resentment is caused the level of cultural influence they achieve as immigrants in nations they've moved to that is vastly disproportionate with their numbers. If Jewish People used their God given talent for the betterment of Humanity, the World might be a perfect place. Hmmmmmm.

The Jews have been hated because of their God given talent, ambition, vision and street smarts. My step grandmother fled Russia due to pogroms at the turn of the 20th century described in this presentation. My step father came thru the needle trades. The family of 4 children ended up in LA shortly after WW2. Our family was very successful in the furniture business. The business catered to the Hollywood crowd and their associates. Most were Jewish. I played with their kids from about the age of 4. Loved 'em and still love 'em.

Of course you’d say that. The truth was that Jewish people when they were allowed to live with the rest of the native population, would open a business and would hire only Jewish people. I am a Zionist, though I haven’t given much thought to this. Jewish people could have moved to Palestine, as it was known, centuries back.

@@marinazagrai1623 My step father was indeed Jewish, but my mother was not. Hence, I am not Jewish. When my mom planned to marry the man who became my step father, the Russian grandmother (who was orthodox, spoke Yiddish etc.) insisted my mother convert to orthodox Judaism in order to marry her son. This my mother did and all was good. However, after the new household was started, with two households combined, day to day operation was secular. Even celebrated Christmas AND Passover.

@@dorothyharris6596 I did not say "hated by everyone". I said "hated". And those that hate them resent their God given talents. And there are alot of Jew haters out there. As to the question of "Do the Jews hate anybody". I would have to say they are not a hateful people. But I did see hostility toward Jew haters ie. bigots, nazis etc.

Always resentment against Jews for creating an industry that never existed before. How many professions were Jews denied entry into until they had to create their own. Everyone is allowed to succeed in America except for Jews. Jealous much?! Does the quota system ring a bell idiots? You also fail to acknowledge that while Jews founded and ran most but not all studios the talent was mostly Gentile. They were working together creating content for an America that was limited, they had to go slowly in opening minds and hearts fearful every step of the way--answering to shareholders who demanded profits all the while. Kudos to them.

@Simon McCreath Yes, they had to contend with quotas and could not enter law schools, medical or dental schools or study sciences. so if you couldnt get into college you couldnt practice those professions. In addition, they were denied positions in finance and banking. Those who could get into college but werent into medicine or law had to create their own firms like retail or textiles to employ each other when no one else would.
