It didn't redefine it, but it sure as hell perfected it. This and Silksong are as far as the bar will go for quite some time I'm sure. Team Cherry can be proud to be the role model for developers from here on out.

One little touch I really like: 0:18 while you have your map open, the character is actually looking at a map.

Nope. Once she discovered the world of the Little Nightmares 1 and 2 it was over but not forgotten. She has really become quite the artist drawing dark gothic anime. I don't think she has ever beaten a game all the way through honestly. Her Hollow Knight drawing is superb. I wouldn't sell it for a $100.

A dev team consisting of 3 people really went and created arguably one of the best games of all time

This is THE best indie game of the year. No contest. 100+ hours of honest to god some of the best gameplay i've experienced in this entire decade. Please support the devs and go buy this game! Twice! Thrice!!!!!! Amazing job Team Cherry!

100hours is a bit too much. The original game may take 50+ hours, which is still impressive for a 10€ discounted game. I'm talking about my experience. Good job team 🍒

16 hours in the game and I'm still finding new zones, new bosses, new enemies, new skills, new charms, new npcs and other stuff. And I haven't even witness half of what is shown in the trailer! This game is fcking massive for an indie title, the best part is it is superb polished, well thought and planned out, also the design is magnificent, story telling is spot on, and story on it's own is compelling. Maybe it's just me but honestly I swear to all gods I haven't witnessed a single bug or glitch or anything that would take me out of immersion or would ruin my experience! I simply love this game to bits and couldn't recommend it more. It is my fav game of this year so far! Another indie gem to add to the collection!

I’ve found one bug. It was pretty funny. One of those walking bushes was on the ceiling of a low overhang and it started walking upside down on thin air instead of turning around or turning the corner. It’s happened several times with the same walking bush so I don’t know if it’s a bug or some kind of secret. Other than that I can’t really think of any bugs I’ve experienced in the game.

It plays hornets theme, it was hinting at Silksong all along-

My favorite games in this genre Shantae and the Pirate's Curse and Ori and the Blind Forest (Highly recommend!) And now I have another favorite game in this genre Hollow Knight. For me, this games is the best metroidvanias in gaming industry at this moment ^-^

Can confirm, four months later it's definitively one of the best metroidvanias ever. THE best indie metroidvania, no doubt.

A true masterpiece and an artistic achievement. I am serious. Today people admire a Picasso when they go to a museum. One day, people will look at hollow knight as a great intellectual, artistic achievement of our time. Congratulations to Team Cherry and thank you for giving us such an incredible gift.

@@sofussigvardt2962 Because it's not radically different from Hollow Knight, which already protects it's status. The trailer and demo gameplays already showed Team Cherry know what they're doing with platforming and worldbuilding. It's also very unlikely that TC will fuck up at the last second, since they proven themselfes to manage updates well. Although I have to accept that it's not safe to assume either. TC themselves confirmed they are going through some kind of Content Creep right now which might be worrying.

I never cared for Indie Games before, I was blended by 4k and ultra realistic graphics like so many other people are. But since Nintendo announced its Switch, my eyes are opened again. Open for artistic, brilliant GAMES. I feel like a child again, but I'm 25. Dear Team Cherry, as soon as you release this game to the Switch, I will istantly buy it. I would pay 30€ for it, just so you know.

I love how this game has enemies that variety from adorable to terrifying.

Massive congrats to the team I am so glad I backed you guys on KS. The trailer looks INSANE & amazing! I thought the game looked nuts day 1 of the KS this is on another level. No kidding, it is freaking amazing! Over a million sold as of last month on the computer alone! So happy for Team Cherry's success they 100% deserve it, am glad I was there at the start to help them out during the KS in a tiny way and now see them blow up. Feels good 👍, now just imagine what Hollow Knight 2 will be like or any other project they make. My body is ready! :)

They put fun, challenging ,long, beautiful, emotion, and great story into one game.

This is the best game I’ve ever fucking played.

i'm 50 hours deep into this game, and when I watched this, I still got hype as fuck as I teared up. fuck, why is this game so goddamn good?

When you realize the HK release trailer song is Hornet's Theme and that she's been the main character the whole time.

Hollow Knight is a masterpiece in the world of gaming and deserves ten worlds of recognition for it.. I couldn't say enough about this beautiful and incredible experience.

Honestly, one of my favorite games of all time.

Back when we didn't know that a masterpiece was about to came out.

God this game looks gorgeous. Can't play any games this semester cause of crazy school, but I'll pre-order for the extra gorgeous gidbits.

Imagine if silksong came out first, and this was the sequel we were waiting for to come out.

@A random person on the internet agreed, i think increasing the difficulty should mean that enemies have harder attack patterns and the areas are harder to beat(more challenges, new enemies, new traps, puzzles, etc)

It was originally for valentine's day and its getting close after 2 years of the trailler and they were working on it since the release of the original so it could be soon. Sorry If im wrong and i still hope for a new trailler soon.

I am not a fan of dark, demonic or Tim Burton style games - but this game transcends my bias I am hoping for a physical switch game but if it's digital I guess beggars can't be choosers. So polished looking.

Looking back at this trailer brings too much nostalgia back and I’ve played the game literally a few months ago

4 years after beta and this is what we get. A very polished platformer that has such a good story. Like dude 3 people made this good ass shit.
