Beautiful work. Can this coaster stand the heat for coffee or tea mug ? Is this "Fiebing Pro resist" water and heat resistant ? I am thinking to make something for hot drink.

hot drink mugs shouldn’t be problem!
Did you fully case the leather or just the grain surface? It would be helpful to see the bottle labels of products you were using. I am brand new and want to make some coasters but isn't the purpose of coasters to absorb any condensation and not be fully waterproof?

Hi Justin, there is a finish(Fiebing's Pro Resist) to protect that color(Fiebing's Vintage Gel) on the grain side. On the flesh side, Gum Tragacanth was applied.
