I feel like we raised our families together with the meal planning, dropping off kids for practices, cleaning, etc. My kids are a little older than yours but not by much. I wish we could sit down and talk and navigate this current life season together. ❤ I have a kid in the military as well and am grateful for technology with video chat. It makes a huge difference! I loved this video! It was so calm and relaxing to watch. On Thanksgiving Day we didn't have any pie this year but had gluten free pumpkin cookies made by my son-in-law, Baklava made by my youngest son and I made Tasty Squares (which is Rice Krispies and peanut butter, sugar and corn syrup mixture and melted chocolate chips and butterscotch chips on top. They are so good and gluten free). Then my side of the family had a big get together on Saturday, with all kinds of good food but there wasn't a pie in sight then either lol Have a great week! God bless you!

Kimmie, this video was so sweet ❤!! My husband's side of the fam went out to eat on Thanksgiving day. I wanted to make a meal and so I ended up doing it all by myself on Saturday with appetizers, such as Buffalo chicken dip, cheese and crackers with ham and pepperoni which I tried to make a rose but it did not turn out and I grabbed a fruit and veggies tray from Kroger for the OSU / Michigan game and then started cooking and Disneyland's Apple Caramel pie (SSS copycat recipe) then bought a pecan pie but I made chicken noodles, IP turkey, small ham, corn, sweet potatoe casserole and I wanted to make Mac and cheese homemade but it didn't get done. Also cooked my potatoes to make mashed potatoes in the instant pot with golden potatoes this year always used Russets. The pot gave me a burn notice don't know how long it cooked before that and so a re-cooked them and then QR for the remaining prep and they turned out heavy and thick. 😢 I also bought a store bought cranberry salad which was good but I wanted to make Griffith's cran - strawberry sauce version however I didn't grab the Strawberries. Anyway, everything turned out delicious!! ❤ Yours looked amazing!!

A huge problem with cooking in a STR is that you do not have your regular cooking gear. My SIL always brings her baking gear and crock pot, my MIL her coffee pot and I always grab my favorite knife and a few of my wooden spoons. Between the 3 of us we manage to crank out some great meals while on vacation.

Definitely trying Aldi pie crusts for Christmas pies. I thought the name brand was very dry this time and hard to work with. Did you use aluminum foil pie pans or metal pans? Enjoyed seeing your family again! Thanks for sharing🙂

I made hand pies this year. We only have a few people to feed so I made 4 different kinds. I used bought pie crust and pie fillings. The apple crisp was all homemade (Tawra's recipe). I need to try your blueberry pie. My husband would love that. And are you selling those aprons? I love that style.

I made a double layer pumpkin pie, homemade apple, cherry and chocolate pies and they all got eaten. I cut small pieces so everyone could have a sample of each. Everyone had to go home to take a nap. I did turkey, grean bean casserole, corn casserole, mashed potatoes, rolls. Dips, I did your shrimp dip and chilli cheese dip and of course, the turkey and stuffing. Full plates. Oh, I made breads, zucchini and banana breads.

I was definitely screaming at the screen, telling you not to put it in the refrigerator. But if you leave it sit out on a counter long enough it will still set up. Just the nature of gelatin. I've actually had it happen and just threw it in the microwave. It was fine. I'm so glad you had a wonderful holiday. Mine was great. I feel the bloating also. I wore leggings with a Sam's club leggings shirt and a cardigan. Thanks for the great video.

I made two boo-boos at Thanksgiving. First, as I was making my pie crust, I remembered I donated my rolling pin. 🤦‍♀️ I had to use a small pastry roller; crust was a little thick but delicious. Second, in a sleep deprived coma, I put on the wrong jeans. They were super cute but not expandomatic; I couldn’t wait to get back home and bust out of them. Minor bumps in the road of a joyous Thanksgiving. Thanks for sharing yours. ❣️

This is the first year I did Not make my pie crusts and I was not happy with the results. They were the Pillsbury ones. And I made some with Marie calendar’s frozen.

always always HAVE TO HAVE apple pie after a turkey dinner, it's the highlight for me. My mother makes the all time best apple pie, even my kids have agreed that she should just gift people her apple pies from Christmas.
