Holden Commodore Brands Hatch Thunder Race 1 (Super Touring Power Event)
Onboard of R1 in Thunder Saloons, until the last lap. A few car issues as the race progresses as you can see from the behaviour of the car! Still, all good fun sticking it to the modern & winged cars!

That was a lot of fun to watch! I had no idea about the brake tappity-tap-tap thingy you were doing before the brake zones, so I googled it and ended up learning something new 😂
That footwork, wow! Nice video. At some point I've got to visit one of these racing events, looks super fun. All the best from Germany!
Long time fan, first time poster. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. Sure am keen to see more PoV racing content like this, awesome stuff Abbie.
It is a joy to see you Drive, makes me want to try myself, 👍🥰
that looks great fun, and sounds amazing too :D
what a beast of a car good job
Great video. Thanks for sharring!
I find myself staring at the footwork for most of these. Super interesting to watch. Do you have to dab the brakes in a w series car as well, or does pad knockback stop being an issue from a certain class on?

W Series cars don’t need pre brake tap :-)
Shame we missed you. We were down on the Saturday for it, cracking event and we got to see your dad thundering around in that beast! 😎
holy crap, thats a handful
Great Drive Abbie & you even beat Alex Sidwell in his VF Commodore 👏👏

To begin with, Alex got a terrible start.....then 3m.06 happens 😜 Nice footage and impressive lap times too Abbie.
2 Commodores from 30years apart in the same race in the UK. What a sight! You raced the VF in Super 2 if I remember correct.
Hello Abbie Just curious at what the hose is for. I'm guessing ventilation. I don't see one on the other cars and wondered why you were different.

Abbie is the tapping the brake before applying it to stop the pads shifting under load??

I'd like to know too please?
Um...you were so aggressive in the first minute!!!! - very exciting and in the top four!!!. I don't quite understand after that ....why are you not changing down a gear a Druids? That orange Commodore smoked you there at 3:07 and you appear to be in 4th, or too high a gear anyway At Druids you seem to be giving everyone an extra 1/2 second due to too high a gear?? Anyway just my thoughts. Not sure you can run this circuit using just two gears even with the 5 litre's grunt. All the best anyway. I will keep following you. I note you're doing around 51.90's and Greg Murphy in his 2009 Commodore was doing 50 flat in another YT video although he had a lot of traffic there !! So credit to you! Is this an actual ex-Aussie touring car or an amateur build?

We haven’t got the right diff ratio in. If I shifted down I would be on the rev limiter :-)

@@AbbieEaton I see!! Thank you. Working my way through your uploads - really great content. When will you upload again? Also is your car a professional ex-Aus touring car or a home-build/amateur build? I love the car - sounds awesome.
Sounds like there's an issue as the engine is decelerating, like it's forgetting to fire one or more cylinders, and that's then upsetting the chassis as the loads through the diff and gearbox change about. Grip coming out of the corners was always limited on those bodies, they're a lot lighter then people realize, with a shedload of torque from that motor.

I think the noise you are hearing is the rears locking over the bumps into paddock corner. Engine is all good 👍🏻 Well spotted though!

@@AbbieEaton Seems to be in all corners at the end of the vision, must make it a handful! I have a VC Valiant that does something similar at the limit, due to rear drums,... :D
Gearing looks way too long for the short track at Brands, good footage though.

Yup! we only use 2nd and occasionally 3rd! But we do this for a bit of fun and don’t have £££ to throw diffs etc at it :-)

@@AbbieEaton Yes can evidently see that, no doubt the tall gearing will benefit the faster tracks? What speed are you hitting in 3rd at the end of the straight? 120 - 130 mph?

@@superbrit3845 At Silverstone GP the gearing is about spot on. Not sure on speed for 3RD as we don’t have a speedo but I would imagine 130ish yeah 👌🏻

@@AbbieEaton Top end in 4th on those was in the 230 to 250 kph range, the tall diff for Bathurst had them pushing 270, but meant using first through The Cutting.
