Nice driving. That doesn't look easy at all but you boys were getting it done. Fast response for a vehicle that large.

People who are complaining about the driving of this guy have no clue what it takes to drive a tiller style hook and ladder fire truck and if people cannot compliment this guy don't comment because it is not easy to drive one of these fire trucks and I may only be 21 but I have been a volunteer fireman since I was 16 and they let me sit in the position this guys in and it is no easy task

Right - he needs to drop the attitude, but then again, he is right. It is dangerous to run red lights at those speeds. However, the driver is not the only one to blame. The guy writing the SOP's has a finger in it, so does the chief, driver's captain, people in traffic and a lot of other people. This driver might be going fast, but so does most of his fellow firefighters in the world (not just the US)

I'm not a firefighter but can tell this guy is a pro. This video seems like one that would be used in a "what not to do" power point briefing in today's ever softening society though. Excellent ... driving? tilling? skills brother. You have my respect and appreciation.

@sfdff39 , of course it is hard to tell from the camera/tiller spot. i just hope that the driver did back off the throttle a little bit and covered the brake when he appears to power through the opposing lane and intersection. having been up in the tiller, i prefer my drivers get us there safely so we can do what we have to do.

Think of it as counter clockwise driving when the driver in the front goes left the guy in the back goes right believe it or not this is easy to to ger down tight streets and packed roads due to having both drivers on it the other thing is the guy in the back does not have control over speed or brakes just turning

@USMC3531tsd I don't think that's true, when the tone stays high it becomes an extremely obnoxious tone and in fact will cause more annoyance than the fluctuating tone. To be honest it seems traffic clears faster when people gun the Q... even though it doesn't sound great... but that's kinda of the point.

Nice video man, one Cert I wanna get one of these days, Tiller operator. Just a question though, you East coast guys, are you taught to wind the grinder siren tight and hold it there? this is probably the 5th or 6th video I have seen with the damn thing sounding like a raped banshee. I know we were taught that the changes in pitch of the thing is what gets peoples attention, and the constant "WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" actually can cause people to "not hear it."

@chainsaw5vent That driver can see a lot better than you can from this view. Why slow down if he has a clean shot? If they are responding to my house, i hope they respond just like they do in this video, but i guess if it was your house, you would want them to take it slow on the right side of the road and weezle their way threw all that traffic. The "safe" way
