Totally agree on the midsole. It’s like cardboard compared to previous models. I’ve had multiple pairs of SG 2,3,4 and 5’s and irrespective of other issues - especially with the uppers, they’ve always had an all-day, plush ride that set them apart from other trail shoes. Now it’s gone, so has their differentiation and relevance. Super disappointing as it feels like the upper is going to work better on this model. Having to rethink what to wear on long days now.

Great review! I recently purchased SG5 and really like them for daily trail runs. Don’t have experience with other SG but do have MS4 and love them. I would never purchase NORDA or SPEEDLAND because of ridiculous price! Yes I can get them but I would feel stupid to.
