@@blakekeane5507 ah that's so great to hear! Tell them hello from us!
Hays is such an easy toddler he seems to adapt to new environments very well! And since he's exposed to so many cultures at such a young age no doubt he's gonna grow up to be a respectful well-cultured young man :)

Thanks Kayla! Both Phuoc and Na are incredible people. We met Na on our second day in Hoi An and it really made our stay special. She runs a weekly kids club and connected us with so many wonderful people and experiences. She also hosts cooking classes which we did with my parents so that’ll be coming soon! Thanks for watching, as always. ♥️
Wow my mouth is salivating with the sight of all these herbs, and spices of South East Asia, I feel like I can smell them from your video! I did not know Vietnam is such an amazing place! Now I know! Thanks! I just love the imaginations of little kids, their worlds are the most fun place!

Wow you guys really hit out of the park with this trip!! Hoi An looks amazing!! It has elements of what I remember about Korea 40 years ago which in my mind was the best time. Such a legit trip. Your food tour guide is the man!! It couldn't have been better... y'all were practically family. ah... so awesome.

What a food tour. next month I will be in Hoi An and Da Nang. If I could, I will get Phouc as our food guide. But IDK if I can eat the whole food being serve. It looks so much for me. And what a lovely boy and family you had. Thank you for your great videos.

I'm so glad you enjoyed! I hope you do book a tour with Phouc, and if so, tell him and Na hello from us! We miss that family soooo much. It's ok if you just try a few bites of each dish-- you can tell him and he can customize it accordingly, or order small portions. Enjoy!
Daddy's precious spoon😆 I could recognize many Vietnamese words due to its similarity to Korean(when Phouc spoke and explained the word 'ma'-maybe, horse, rice seedling, tomb etc, I could understand every meaning of the word) Btw, Steph. It's lovely that you try to speak the language though it might be quite a challenge. All the Vietnamese food look so delicious. It's one of my favorite food. Some of it remind of me the food I used to grow up eating as well in S.E part of Korea especially those black sesame desert. I'm actually surprised you said that you like all kinds of food made with sesames. It seems your taste and understanding about the food have reached to another level as an American. Wow~👍 Always lovely Hays😍🌸 looks so energetic and happy in Vietnam. Have a wonderful time.🙏🍀

It was a really nice touch that they provide chopsticks and a spoon and sanitizer and tissues, etc. Very thoughtful! I had no idea Vietnamese had similarities to Korean! That's cool! I recognized some stuff because of studying Mandarin, but not much. Vietnamese food is SO good. We really have had a few great months of eating (Korea, Vietnam.) We've traveled a lot, so we may not be the classic "American" although Americans do eat a really wide range of foods from what we've observed vs. other countries. Thanks again for always watching and commenting!
bánh kẹp was the local name of bánh tráng nướng aka vietnamese pizza.

I saw them on One Pack Wanderers! We didn't make it HCMC this time but we may come back! We did a great food tour in Hanoi that we'll post soon.
That's definitely one of the BEST food tours I've seen...right up there with Flora and Note's food tour in Hanoi (if you go there, check out the food tour guide they used as she was also really great). Hays is so well behaved for his age to follow along that whole food tour with you. What a total cutie! BTW, you've only scratched the surface of Vietnamese food...there's still bun cha (I've seen many vloggers said this was their favorite, but try to get it in Hanoi where it originated), banh xeo (try it in the south, though), banh cuon, banh khot, com tam, bun thit nuong, bo la lot, etc...anything that's wrapped with herbs and veggies then dipped, anything with lemongrass, etc.
@StephandPete

Aw thanks! I love Flora and Note. We were in Hanoi and did a food tour on motorbikes with my parents. We also had bun cha multiple times! And I think most of the others on your list, too. 🤤 Thanks for watching and commenting!

Hayes a really trooper isn't he? Rain, what rain? Water puddle, let's see how big of a splash I can make. You guys are awesome, willing to try so many different food and walking through the drizzle. Madame Phuong is an institution in Hoi An so for Phuoc and his wife to get her to let you guys in must mean Phuoc and his wife are also well known and respected in Hoi An as well. Great find and thank you for sharing this with us.

Another great video, well edited as always c: Your videos are gradually creeping up in length haha. A couple of things I'd mention though, I noticed in the early parts of the vlog you had some shots that were quite overexposed. Do you use auto exposure or expose yourself when you shoot? Also, the yellow text at some times was REALLY hard to read in those over exposed shots. Aside from that, great as always though! Also your choice of background music is always really good. I was wondering where you get your music from? Is it mostly licenced or from the audio library or some other royalty free site? Hope you're all doing well! c:

Good feedback! Tbh, color correcting is one area I know absolutely nothing about and haven't even tried to learn yet. I usually just hit "auto" in the Lumetri color panel but sometimes it really fades it out so then I just tend to reset and not worry about it. Definitely an area I need to look into. Should get back to some shorter ones soon but couldn't figure out how to cut too much of this one since we ate SO MUCH. I use Epidemic Sound, but I've also just started playing around with Thematic (free version.) I used both in the latest (train to Hanoi) vlog. Hope you're well, too!

@@StephandPete Colour grading is a bit advanced and honestly, its optional and not really essential. I colour grade my videos, but it really is not necessary, most cameras have decent basic colour profiles. And your colours are fine, it was just the exposure. But tbh, i only really noticed in that one scene so the rest was totally fine. Exposure is only usually an issue outside when you're in a very bright directly lit area or with a super light background and a dark interior. manual exposure etc is also a big pain in the ass. I use my pocket 2 with manual but having to change ND filters constantly is a huge pain, and honestly I think your video quality is great, it does everything it needs to so the more advanced stuff probably isn't worth the effort. I think longer videos are good if you still have high retention rates. I wonder what your retention % is on your videos, it'd be really interesting to know. But I think anything that is around 45% - 60% will do really well views wise and get pushed by the algorithm. (maybe that, combined with the new thumbnail style is why your first seoul video exploded if you had good retention too c: ) And ahhh, Epidemic. It's good, but I don't like subscription services, so I just license my music from premium beat usually. it is subscription, but its buy once and use the music forever. While with premium beat, you cant use it after you stop paying. so i definitely like to "own" my music rights. Thank you ^^ (Sorry for the essay reply ^^" )
