GAMERS and CONSOLE EXPERTS: I am debating between a PS5 and a Switch. 1) How different are the graphics? 2) Which would give the best experience? 3) It is important to be able to have my play view on the screen when I do play videos. Can both consoles do screen recording? If I got a Switch, I feel like I would use it more than a PS5 BUT, the console is being purchased FOR this game. Any expert opinion would be helpful!

I love my switch but it doesn’t do great with graphic intensive games like this one so I’ll definitely recommend to go for the PS5 if you can get it!

PS5 for sure. It's a much more powerful machine, and given how HL was showcased on the State of Play, it seems likely that the game will be optimized for the Sony consoles, have some timed exclusives, or some little thing that you can't get on the other platforms. PS5s are super difficult to get your hands on though.

Peter, this is an RPG meaning you control everything your character does and you can move everywhere freely with your controller. This is not a cutscene game where you gave some options. You can literally do anything you want.

I'm joining as a Huffelpuff , then going rogue. I want to see how evil this game lets you get. It would be a nice novelty to pick a playstyle focusing on curses and potions and dark plants...to subjugate the goblins and evil wizards under my own rule and win the game that way. If the goal is to stop the evil goblin rebellion and wizards, it doesn't necessarily mean you have to accomplish it by merely stopping them....you might RUN that bitch!

Yes! As a Potterhead and a gamer, I am thrilled about this game! I've played many other Potter games, but nothing like this. The level of detail put into the development. The people who made the game are Potter fans themselves. They put their Potter love into it, and it shows! I'll definitely be playing the game too!

Been playing hogwarts mystery. Could these bad guys be the forerunner of 'R'? It is linked with port key. Have switchlite. I hope it'll run. Fighting will be on easiest setting. Maybe my character will be an ancestor to my hogwarts mystery character.

this is known as an “open world RPG” (RPG stands for Role Playing Game). open world games are just what it says - the world is entirely open to you and you can go anywhere and do anything and explore to your heart’s content! Role Playing Games usually mean you create your character and they’re basically almost a blank canvas for you to imagine their own personality, parts of their background, etc if you’re interested in really getting into the roleplaying aspect of it. the developers have said you can be an “evil” wizard if you choose, but it hasn’t been specified just *how* evil you can be and if it will heavily affect the story. Quidditch also hasn’t been confirmed or denied yet. i’m a big gamer but i haven’t been this excited for a video game’s release in years. it’s going to consume all my time for months!

Hey Cait! Just wanted to offer a small correction to your otherwise very informative comment: The devs were kind of forced to confirm that you'd be able to go "evil", because someone from the inside of one of the studios that are working on Hogwarts Legacy leaked a bit of information about the game when it was first announced. One of the leaks was regarding the fact that Hogwarts Legacy will be featuring a full morality system, where the choices you make throughout the story of the game will impact the storyline, as well as your character itself. So yeah, you *can* become a dark wizard.

Yep! I'm so ready for this game man!. Also in the future don't be afraid to pause so you can talk and give your thoughts! It's a big part of the reaction 😁

@@brittanymoleski6401 Unfortunately he also wasn't very willing to speak over the video so he really didn't get much out in terms of his own thoughts until the video was over. Pausing gives him time to talk about said part while it's still fresh in his mind.

when he threw out that Avada I got chiiiiiills. I don't know why I was so surprised, it's so open concept of COURSE u can become a dark wizard too

I love how it caters to the books as well, with the house elf kitchens and PEEVES 😩

I’m so excited for this game that I already Pre-ordered my copy which I NEVER do, for any game. This game however, is THE HP/WIZARDING WORLD game everyone has been wanting and waiting for 20 years and honestly I hope the devs are proud that they have ignited so much excitement and happiness in the fandom. When I watched the trailer I actually thought about your reaction to it as well. :D I love gaming but in the last years there were very few games to be excited about. You can be in any house, not sure if you choose which house or if there’s some other way though, I saw the first leaks about this game in 2016, been waiting for it for years, can’t wait going to do a good play through then an evil play through I hope the other unforgivable curses are in it aswell though

Hogwarts Legacy appears to have at least five in-game story-lines: "Goblin Rebellion", "Mysterious Corruption (red eyes)", "Poachers of Magical Creatures", "Merlin's Legacy", and "Ancient Magic". The game design allows us to support, oppose, or ignore any or all story-lines as we choose. This game is HUGE.

I’ve watched this trailer like 3 times before this and watching your reaction definitely was like reliving my first time watching it. The way you were in shock and then happiness and then giddy (was my literal EXACT reaction-and I’m a gamer!). I’m SO EXCITED to see what kind of little details will be in the game that shock even the biggest Harry Potter fans!

This is the 25th time I've watched reactions to this game and it wont be the last. I loved your reaction to the video. I'm a huge fan of HP and gaming, so I'm totally excited for this game! I even bought a 4k 65in tv just to play this game. I love the slytherin common room! Just hope to see aquatic beasts swimming past the windows!

For your information: as others pointed out this feels like an RPG. I was analyzing the gameplay during the video and it feels like a combination of Red Dead Redemption, Skyrim, and Detroit: Become Human. What I mean is, if I had to guess, it’s either an completely open world where there are “mission points” as seen in Red Dead and Skyrim or semi-open world with different “sections”. For example, Hogwarts and the surrounding areas may be immediately connected as one “area”, Hogsmead would be an area, and anything not Hogwarts is its own area. Then there are things to do in Hogwarts to increase your skill level (which probably has an effect on spells). That means that this game has small crafting elements and leveling up concepts to increase how effective you are. What is really interesting is the possibility of being “corrupted” by potentially becoming a dark wizard, this means there may be branching paths that give different endings (like Detroit: Become Human). Then when it comes to spells, I don’t think you’ll be able to select all the spells you could ever want, but it seems like this possible method: you are given a decent selection of possible spells that can be learned that can be assigned to specific buttons and some spells might “work together” creating some kind of “perk” or “synergy” system where different combinations of button presses during combat has potential to release a very powerful spell (like that lightning one). The combat seems very fast, so that is the only thing that makes sense to me because it would be very slow if you had to re-assign spells during combat (so you select the spells that you like best for your play-style during combat). This game looks incredibly complex, well designed, and has all the elements of popular games. The hard thing to know is if you can do any mission in any order or if it is more “linear” where there is a defined path. It feels more open based on the footage to me. This game looks like it will have great replay-ability. Recent games have more open structure rather than a “level selection screen”.

I can tell already this is going to be the next Skyrim! By that I mean fans will play and support this game for the next 15 years with fan made mods, especially on the PC version. The devs are going to make plenty of DLC and milk it, for sure they will remaster the game and bring it to the PS6 whenever it comes out 5 years from now. 100% the next Skyrim.

As a hardcore lifelong gamer it's so wholesome watching you react to this game man, I can't wait to play this. You should definitely do a full playthrough on your channel when it comes out!

When I get this for PC, I'm going rogue. I want to play as an evil wizard and go "dark path" just for fun. My idea of leaving my mark is to complete the objective of stopping the goblin rebellion and dark wizards by subjugating them as their war lord. That would be a nice novelty.

“Holidays” means Q4 of the year so most likely November which is when sales generally go up (used to work in a game store.) Hey Peter! Glad to see you back. As someone said below it is RPG (role playing game) and you’re not wrong to think it could have been linear. However the developers stated it is going to be “an immersive, open world” so you will be able to move freely around the castle and grounds. How you level up your magic abilities will most likely be your classes and there will be a main story line to uncover, hope this helps! Take care as always. This is going to be a good year!

I would definitely recommend getting a gaming console. To play on PC you would need a pretty good gaming computer. It would also be easier to play on a console for a new gamer as well since keyboard and mouse can be quite challenging.

@@jackm4536 It's not always about value for your money. As a tech enthusiast I am willing to pay more for a device that I can build myself and customize to my needs. The PC vs Console argument is an excuse to bicker between gamers. I am not stating that people should not buy consoles or people should not buy pcs. I think the choice is determined on the factor of what the individual wants the device for. Some people just want a simple way to play games. Others want to push their device to its limits with pc overclocking. In the end it's not that valid of an argument.

I love love love that it is no where NEAR the Time of Harry Potter. No "He who shall not be named." No Grindelwald. A Whole new world. The Goblin Rebellion. YES. Magical creatures that need NO WANDS.

Yes! I was so waiting for you to watch this trailer!! I'm really happy that you'll give it a go even if you're not a gamer - the possibilities and endless fun the game looks like it has should satisfy all that HP curiosity! I personally suggest getting a Playstation (either 5 or 4) for gameplay as when it comes to fighting and being able to see details and such then I feel it would be better. But if we're talking long term and you want something you can take with you when travelling in the future then a switch is better suited for you. It is your personal preference for this though! Something that I was really excited for you to see was the AK curse scene - it shocked me as well! It really brings in the question of how much our choices will affect gameplay. But it is an open world, so that means you can run around to your heart's content! There will likely be the main storyline which will progress you to the end of the game and side-quest storylines for you to complete also - I don't believe there is any obligation to stick to playing the story all the way through so you should definitely have that free-play-esque gameplay

The "Avada Kedavra!" scene is what interested me the most. Is there going to be an ethics system? Can you become a Dark Wizard/Witch if you want to (huge replay value if this is the case)?

When they first announced it they did say depending on your actions you could end up as a dark wizard/witch yourself So yes

I do believe this game will have multiple endings depending on your choices during the game. Thet choose some words, for example been "benevolent" towards the creatures meaning you can save them or kill them (killing them will probably give you items right away and save them over time).

That was NOT Merlin, it was Professor Bins, teaching "history of magic", he is a ghost (obviously) and he appeared in the books, but not in the movies.

Thank you for sharing this because the trailer I saw was much shorter. As a gamer and HP fan, I'm super excited for this game, especially exploring and playing around in the Room of Requirement. I definitely recommend the PS5 as the console to play on, runs great and amazing graphics...this will look amazing!

I totally recognized him but was focused on the stained glass window which said Merlin in the middle. There wasn’t time to mention him. 😄 With some rumors, I was on the hunt for Merlin references.

This game just appeared on my radar today. I immediately watched the trailer then came to see your reaction. I’m not a gamer either, I have a PS4 but I only got it to play one game, I’ve traditionally been a Nintendo person because of The Legend of Zelda. I will 400% be getting this for my daughters and I and since we don’t have a flat screen tv I need to figure out how to hook up a PS4 to my Mac. I’ll definitely be following you for the tips and help you’re asking for 😂

I’m excited to see you explore the world of gaming 😊 RPG (role playing games) are new to me to, but I have learned a lot watching my boyfriend play them. You can build your character in many ways and customize what abilities and skills you use as you go. Basically as you learn more you can tweak the things your character uses in your character build (how you choose to use your skills). I am very excited about the corporation of characters we didn’t have before! Professor Benz and Peeves were in the video and I freaked out 😂🥰

I love that you can fight but you can also use stealth to be sneaky and go around your foes and in dangerous areas I feel like that is going to come in handy a lot.

Im most excited for Defence Against the Dark Arts. I'm 100% playing as a Dark Wizard Slytherin, I know others are different but that's what attracted me to the wizarding world since I was young.
