    Some people complain about the forced diversity of Hogwarts Legacy, but I find it quite fascinating. Yes I realize it is heavy handed, but here’s the thing: we learn about different kinds of jobs, facts about different schools, different ways of thought, and all sorts of stuff! Even if it’s small things like about how to students at The Japanese Magic School (I can’t remember how to spell its name) trained for Quiddich to be some of the best in the world or just what Uwagadu (spelling?) looks and feels and teaches compared to Hogwarts. It fleshes out the entire wizarding world more to more than just Hogwarts and Europe.

    While I roll my eyes at forced diversity, the game was written well enough that it wasn't an issue. At no point did I feel that I was being lectured and the characters were written well enough that I forgot about the forced diversity.

    Ya while i noticed the diversity most of it was non intrusive and was not too immersion braking other than the 3 broomsticks owner being trans in the 1800s and no one batting an eye. Dubley so because i don't even think being trans was even a thing back then. Especially in hogwarts were everyone was really raccost even into the 1900s durring hary potter. But i suspect they did this because of jk rawlings comments on them to try and combat incomming hate due to it being a harry potter game.

    Forced diversity might be an isdue for some, but they execute it just right. Like Japanese Quiddich players play, the way African ppl casts magic, etc. And their designs are just perfect. Like, if I would imagine a botanist Prof. that likes it's job and it's profession, you can either imagine someone in a gardening overall and a straw hat. Or, full green clothing with a bit of stiches here and there. So ye, Prof. Garlick is just perfect

    Wait, the mention African magic culture and Japanese quidditch is supposed to be forced diversity? Seriously? Would it be forced if they kept it within Europe? Or Russia? Or America? I don’t get it. It just felt like learning more about the wizarding world.

    Eh, I feel like people who say it’s “forced” either aren’t familiar with the HP universe or have an issue with the subject of diversity itself. It was done very tastefully and naturally in this game. It also makes sense that the wizarding world is canonically diverse because they had means of international travel far before muggles did (ex. Flying carriages)

  • @ind0minusr3x51

    @ind0minusr3x51

    The "forced diversity" sh!t might be just another petty thing to throw some shades on the game. And given the time period of the game(by the looks, it was before gas powered engines were invented) it would make sence of the diversity, cause the classic "colonisation" era. But for real, it just felt natural to have such variety of professors. And the insight of their culture they are from.
