The Hogwarts Express is a train ride at Universal Orlando Resort that connects the two theme parks, Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, and takes passengers through the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The ride is a replica of the one featured in the Harry Potter movies, and takes passengers from King's Cross Station in Universal Studios Florida to Hogsmeade Station in Islands of Adventure, and back again. The ride features movie-replica cabins with virtual windows that show sights from the Wizarding World, and a projection system that casts shadows. The ride also uses special effects, sound, and music to create the feeling of traveling through the wizarding world.
The Hogwarts Express is 2,218 ft long and has a track gauge of 5 ft 10+7⁄8 in. The ride is slow-moving, and passengers sit in comfortable, air-conditioned cabins with views of the passing scenery. Along the way, visitors can see some of their favorite Harry Potter characters and creatures, such as Hagrid and the Weasley twins.
