Devil Dogs!!!!! I didn’t not know you all were Marines! My people!
You are both nice looking young men. 😊 And, thank you for your service! My son was a Marine also. He spent 27 years in the military. Retired in 2017.
Awesome video. I can relate 100%! Was supposed to be an MP and at the MEPS in Queens, NY I found out I was 9900 - Open Contract! I called my recruiter and cussed him out. I threatened to kill his ass. Told him I was gonna see him when I graduated and would whoop his ass! I never saw him again. I ended up being an 0121 Personnel Clerk. I miss the Corps. Loved every minute of it. You guys are awesome! Got me a couple t-shirts to represent!
What do you call a Marine with an IQ of 90? A battalion. Signed a Navy Vet 😂. I salute you for your service Devil Dogs
It never gets old to hear marines complain about going to palms for 2 week trainings and all the complaints. Since 29 palms was my station it’s hilarious.
I've been in 35° rain on Martin Luther King's Birthday for Waste Management on the back of a garbage truck. It was at least 15 hours.
As a great Sgt told us, "it smells like FAB in here". We were all like awesome it smell like laundry detergent. He shakes his head, as he is walking down the ladder well on the USS Ponce, and says " Feet, Ass, and Breath". 🤣🤣🤣
I scored a 67 on the ASVAB. My recruiter did everything he could short of forging my signature to get me into anything other than the Infantry. I told them either get me an infantry contract or I'll go to the Army. So he got me a 5 year infantry contract and I, in my 18 year old hard charging self, signed it and did my 5 from 08 to 13.

HE tried to sneak the leftover MRE in there, pulled out the field snacks and got FKD UP! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That open contract bulllshit and no one to teach me any better is exactly how I ended up as an ammo tech. I'd say you should feel bad for me but then I re-enlisted...

GySgt Retired, Recruiter, Dark Green, father of twins here. Enjoy your vids, funny sh%t. Your experiences are one of too many, sorry ya’ll didn’t get the experience I did. I had some great leadership from Black Marines who mentored me and later the pride of standing on the shoulders of those who went before me became a source of inspiration. As a recruiter, I made it my business to let everyone I spoke with know that I nor the Corps needs you and that your MOS is not a reason to enlist. It’s deeper than that. Y’all had a ish-bag recruiter. As far as leadership goes, you’re on point. When I was a Devil Pup, I was told if you don’t like the leadership, get promoted. It stuck with me and with each promotion I tried to make sure I didn’t become one of those MF’ers. I tell everyone, Boot Camp & Schools is the easiest part of the Corps. When you hit the fleet and you have to deal with the bureaucracy, racism, and favoritism and still be successful is when it gets hard. Do me one and counter the BS stories with some positives also, cause I know there had to be some. Semper Fi Marines.

I didnt know yall were Marines, Semper Fi
SEMPER FI Brothers I was stationed at Camp Pendleton for four years in 33 Area from 1975 to 1979. To me it was a great adventure having been there as my dad had been stationed there while growing up.
I really enjoyed your stories about the Marines. My son was in San Diego after boot camp in 1995. He was in the Navy and had to get all 4 wisdom teeth out at the same time by probably the same dentist you had😂! He called home and I felt bad for him because I remembered getting mine out. I paid for a motel room so he didn’t have to suffer in his rack. He was stationed on the USS Dixon first at San Diego and then the USS Independence Carrier in Japan. He was an MP like you both wanted to be and really liked that job. He called home from Japan and told me that they were going to the Gulf. I started to cry and gave the phone to my husband. It’s not easy being a mother of kids in the military. Anyway, your stories reminded me of that time. I am glad that you both came home safely like my son did. I thank you both for your service. 😊💕🇺🇸🇺🇸

Semper Fi. I was in 69 to 72. One guy said he was told by his recruiter that he was airwing, he went to clerk school. Most were put where we were needed. When the DI's were telling everybody what their MOS was at the end of boot camp, he calls my name and says you're a 2531. You're a grunt with a radio. Arrived at ITR (MCT) and they asked who was a 2531, you were carrying a PRC-25 radio to all the classes in the hills and dust of Pendleton at a rout step.
I joined in 1990 and then retired in 2015 I was infantry my entire career. I agree there were a lot of leadership that had little man syndrome but the best advice I got was from an old crusty a** recon Marine GySgt, he told me to observe every leader I get and write down the strengths and weaknesses of them. So when I get to be their rank I can be better than them.
gets out of boot goes to the recruiter's office and it's boarded up. hilarious. betcha both these guys did just fine in the Marines
Bro that dentist story is EXACTLY why I refused to let them take out my wisdoms lmao. The dentists in military are insane lol. They wanted to take my wisdom teeth out during a field exercise! Lol I told them no thanks. I have no interest getting my teeth pulled in a lawn chair. Nah. I found a civilian dentist and got it done by a civilian.

I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed in Okinawa. The dentist broke one of my teeth off. He also stood on a stool with one foot while using his other foot on my chest to remove two of my wisdom teeth. I wasn't supposed to eat anything solid for at least 24 hours. I ended up eating steak and lobster at Sam's anchor inn and then hanging down at gate 2 Street and BC Street before heading back to camp Kinser around 0400 to change over for our morning run over the sea wall. Good times. Semper Fi brothers(Hodge twins)

I was deployed to Fallujah twice...... and I would have gone a third time before I EVER get another wisdom tooth thrown out by those sadists called “Navy Dentists”!! @Bore_Punch

I had all 4 taken out in boot camp. They went to crack and pull the first and didn’t numb it enough. Wow. That was the worst. I went to chow with the rest of the light duty recruits and I remember eating jello and my mouth was so numb I was drooling on myself but I couldn’t tell until another recruit. Then when I get back or the squad bay my drill instructor says you better not bleed on my sheets. I wake up and there was blood all over the bed. Luckily it was linen day so I quickly pulled them and threw the sheets in the pile.
They are not lying. The Drill Instructor PUSHED me off. It was the most TERRIFYING thing I had ever experienced up until that point. Absolutely horrific. I hated Swim Week. If you're joining the Marines...LEARN HOW TO SWIM.

I'm laughing at the swimming tests/lessons. I was in the British Army and one of my best mates in basic, was a black lad from Leicester (via the Caribbean). We had to do the swimming test. After I completed the test I got out of the pool and assembled with the rest of the guys. There was a commotion and all I could and see and hear, was Ched, hanging on for dear life, to the bar at the side of the pool and there was no way, in hell, he was letting go, much to the displeasure of the PTI's!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you, Hodge brothers for your service in the Marine Corps. Great stories! I just retired from the guard (past E-6 and O-5) after 20 years as, primarily, military police. I did joint training with Marine MPs; very professional. My most appreciated decoration: good conduct. I believe I succeeded as an officer because I had been enlisted and listened to outstanding non-commissioned officers and trusted officer mentors. Unfortunately, both of you weren't able to serve as MPs. I believe you both would have worn the badge honorably and served with distinction. Appreciate your insights, humor and channel.
Had me hollering!!! 🤣🤣🤣
OK, now I understand. This explains everything about these guys. Glad the marines made them crazy, they're tons of fun now.
Thank you for your service! Because of you guys and the men and women of our armed forces, past and present, we can continue to live free! Thank you

I was an 0311/Security Forces when I was in the Marines. I reported to my first duty station at Alameda NAS and the admin pogs were laughing at me when they saw my record book. I had scored a 92 on my Asvab, and that is like genius level in the Marines. I had a better score than all those guys in the office. Oh well. SOI was a real pain in the ass but I got to shoot just about every gun the Marines use. Got to blow up some stuff with plastic explosives too.

I really enjoy hearing your conversations with ya'll selves. Glad u guys made something for your family's.
At San Diego, I was stationed on Coronado Island, on the USS Nimitz. When I was TAD to navy security forces, we did our gun qualifications at camp pendleton. If you was at a naval hospital in San Diego, you might uv been at Balboa. When I got hurt, I got orders to Balboa. When I got drunk two times, at Gaslamp (the bar district), they found me passed out, on some public transportation bench. One time, I woke up at Balboa. The other time, they seen my CAC card, and then took me to another naval hospital. After our swim call, we marched back to our compartment. Our Chief RDC was like, "whoever failed your, swim qual, come to me" It was about 18 out of 88 dudes that failed the swim...Mayne, my Chief, Chief Mark Young, was like "Awe hell, only nuttin' but black boys failed the swim qual. 🤣🤣🤣 I was like 1 of 3 black guys in Div. 091, that passed the swim. I was also sent TAD to work with the cooks, just like one of the twins...You are the "go-fer" for the cooks; "go for this, go for that." Great memories🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
