I discovered Hobonichi this year. I got the Cousin in A5 and the Twinkle Shells cover. I absolutely love the look and feel of the cover and the new TRP.

I love everything you got, including that beautiful moon phase planner. It’s perfect for what you will use it for. I absolutely love Hobonichi too! And that Choucho cover is so cute with that charm :) I almost ordered that last year.

PVC tends to damage the glossy finishes, so I agree with you and Hobonichi, I wouldn't add a clear cover on the glossy one.

Scotchguard! Would love to hear how it works if someone tries it on the bow-and-tie or Liberty fabrics! These are beautiful.

I ordered my first A5 Cousin with the almond "Have a Nice Day" cover...with the A5 panda bear writing board! Just a few minutes ago, I ordered the A6 mint candy cover with the same statement on the front! 2 A6 day-free notebooks and the panda writing board! Pandas are so adorable! 😊

What a great haul!! My personal life has been busy so I switched to day free this year so the pressure of daily pages didn’t get to me. I can’t handle blank pages and when I get behind sometimes it just snowballs and then I have huge gaps in my journal. It has worked well for me this year. But I must say that I am so tempted to get the liberty fabric HON. She is so pretty and definitely calling my name! I just don’t know if I want the A5 or to wait for November for the a6 English version. I’m thinking smaller pages may be more manageable for daily…idk. Decisions, decisions. 😅

Thank you! I have a friend who currently uses the day free & loves it. I used to use it as a work planner when I was working fulltime & it was fantastic for that purpose for me. I’ve already thought about how amazing some of the HONs would be in an English A6…Lord have mercy I might have to lock myself up somewhere on Nov 1 😂😅💀

Thank you! I hope they continue offering the Makino designs annually at least another couple years. And not sure if this makes a difference, but that design is offered in A6 as well as A5. Sorry to enable if that helps, Lol

Ugh, it’s already February 2024 so if I buy one, there will be two months I can’t use but that cat bow tie cover is just so beautiful😭 I was just going to buy a small blank notebook and make each two page spread a weekly layout. I haven’t used a diary since highschool but I think I need one again to get me out of this rut I’m in as a result of health struggles! And I tried using my phone calendar but it just wasn’t working for me. Besides, there isn’t much that’s more satisfying to me than writing on Tomoe River Paper 😍 And at first the weekly layout will be enough because I’m going to start small with not too many tasks but now I’m thinking the A6 with daily pages might actually be better because it gives me room to grow as I get stronger and am able to take on more tasks. I think I will wait a week and if I still want it in a weeks time, then I will get one!

No pressure but if you really like it there’s still 10+ months left in the year! You could always use the Jan pages for collections & lists. JS Lol 😉

I felt the same way about the floral. I got a weeks, only because I’m a fountain pen user. I usually buy my planners from dollar tree, so I was shocked by the quality upgrade.

Unboxing is always exciting for me with the annual release ☺️ I feel like the expanded HON selection this year went over well, so I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they start adding more accessories (like decorative CoCs) for it in the years ahead. Hello, neighbor!! Great unboxing. What are you using all your books for in 2024? I received my order directly from Hobonichi Japan 6 days after I ordered it. I am very pleased with my items. New to me this year is the A5 Cousin Hon (pronounced like “hawn”) and the A5 Day Free. The Weeks I ordered this year is the “Take A Look”, which has the cat on it and is a hard cover. I got the same A5 Hon as you did, which is the “Cats and Me”, which uses shiny textured fabric used in neckties. I have cut the little illustrations in the pamphlets and pasted them on the interior cover page of my Weeks to give it more sassy-ness. I so love this planner company and I am so happy to have found them in 2017… all the nuances and little details. Hobonichi Jeopardy, anyone? Thanks for sharing, B! See you at insta!

Great choices Maria! I almost passed on the Cats & Me HON but so glad I didn’t! It does coordinate perfectly with the Take a Look Weeks. You’re right about ‘all the little details…’ So fun!

I’m still waiting for my order but I did order the A5 botanical HON with the bot. Pencil board! Also a large yellow drawer pouch & the large Mina zip yellow design ( new) A5 cover

Amazing haul- love it! (KZreadr tip- if your video seems a bit out of focus, regarding small details, check again after 30 minutes or so. KZread first uploads in a lower video quality and then to HD, but it takes a bit. 😉) Image quality looked perfect to me when I watched.

Great haul. What are your plans for all 3 of the HON A5? I bought the Liberty Fabrics and Tomitaro in A5 and A6 and a few weeks ☺️. Im trying to be realistic in terms of how much time ill be able to use them. For the most part one of the A5 HON will be my journal/memory keeper. I Don't want to part with my other A5 HON 😂 but i don't think i have a use for it.

Wellllll…great question! 😬😅😂 Every year I say I’m going to limit myself to 4-5 total books/notebooks for all planning & journaling, & every year I overbuy like it’s the last year I’ll ever be able to buy them 🤣 I still have another order shipping soon so haven’t made my final decisions yet. But, tentatively…I might use one Hon for business planning/tracking & another for Homeschool planning/tracking, which leaves one more undecided. Commonplace book or personal planning is always an option…but I’ve even considered drawing lines on the dailies to convert an A5 HON into a 5-year journal. I’m really still undecided at this point but will def share when I get it figured out! Hope you can find a use for your extra too. They outdid themselves with the covers this year! 🥰

Then I just end up buying what ever I like then figuring it out after 😂. Worst case scenario I'll keep 1 or 2 as a back up or I'll sell it. I agree, the covers for the HON 👌. I also did a 2nd order from Hobonichi A6 Twinkle Tweed and other covers (still waiting). Then I'm waiting on Take a Note planner, I got A6 and B6. I'll stay tuned to see what you have planned 😊

Have you ever heard of the crazy cat lady? Well I’m the crazy notebook lady, Lol 😆 I haven’t completed all of my decisions yet for next year, but the current thought is one for business planning/tracking & one for homeschool planning/tracking. Not sure about the third yet. There are so many ways to use a Cousin tho! Personal planner or journal, a family planner, commonplace book, faith journal…so many possibilities. I’ve paid similar pricing before for blank notebooks that included this many pages of the luxurious tomoe river paper but only had a solid color cardstock cover, so I had no qualms getting these beautifully bound books bc I loved the cover designs so much ☺️
