I got my first Hobonichi last year in A6 and I journal everyday, it's been really awesome. I already got mine for next year, a Cousin in English. Next year I'll have more to journal about, so I figured an A6 would not be enough. Ended up getting a cover, Mother 2 in black, which really makes me feel like playing the games. I wish the A5 had the same cover as the A6, it's so beige and blah. Thank you for sharing, it's so awesome to get new stationary!

I have been tempted to get the Cousin this year as well, but I want to see if I can stick to the A6 more consistently first, then maybe I will try out the A5 next (next) year. And yes it's so fun to get new stationery!

@@IasminaEdina that's exactly what happened to me last year. I'm very glad I went with the A6 in the first of trying to be consistent, since the pages are small you never feel like journaling will take too much time/energy. If you're into fountain pens it makes it even easier because you can just use your broadest nib and suddenly A6 is half the size 😂

Currently I have a blank notebook that i bought of Tiger. I tried one with the dates, and forgot to use half of times. With a blank notebook i don't feel so much pressure to write.

4:27 -- It's fun to look back on until I find something super cringy my old self wrote down, haha. I try to journal and plan and things, but it seems like every year I start one and then by halfway through the year (at most) I've failed to keep up with it. I'll try to start a new one for 2023 and actually stick with it this time. I do keep little notebooks for writing down notes on interesting things I see or read though, so I'll pick up some of those little notebooks at the very least. I've been using the Code and Quill notebooks since I do a lot of coding for my day job and I've found them to be of consistently high quality. You might like their Compass notebook. What are the chances of getting a sticker tour, heh?

Don't think there's anything wrong with not keeping up with a journal/planner the entire year. As much as you can do it the better of course, but I try not to be too harsh on myself when I don't use them as much as I'd want. I'll still end up filling the blank pages with something down the line, as I don't like to waste good quality notebooks like the Hobonichi. Sticker tour? How many hours do you have to watch that? 😂 Also the cringe part is honestly almost my favourite part? It's impossible not to find something cringey about your past self, but that also kind of makes you realize that it's only in hindsight that that stuff is embarrassing, in the moment it might not be. Either that or I'm just always cringe, so I prefer the first option 😅.

@@IasminaEdina yeah, I suppose the fact that you find it cringy in the present often just means you've progressed past it. That's something I try and keep in mind when I get frustrated as well, progress (and cringy-ness, haha) is often only obvious in retrospect. So I guess in that light it's not so bad
