Many years ago spent a number of hours as a passenger in the 130. Those are rides are hard to forget. South Carolina to and from Alaska was memorable to be sure. I can remember that cargo door opening to minus 20 degrees F. A really great plane then and still is.

I love the C 130, look beautiful on air .

Enjoyed the video. Reminded me of how my jumpers crashed my Bush Mule. Only the chute came out the back, and it finally grabbed the elevator causing a fatal crash, with all jumpers on board. LOL. Not going to be dropping any jumpers out of the C-130, once I get the blue angel version; tomorrow. can't wait.

Thanx Jim, I had actually already seen that vid, which emboldenend me to ask for it here. It really got me excited. Yes! Towards end of the video when the 3 successfully jumped. That was my best demo of slow flight but I think it can fly marginally slower still. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

@@EssentialRC Makes sense. I just looked and could see from the jumpers perspective looking back up that both sets of flaps are deployed to get to that 120 ish knots over the DZ. If it is cargo off the ramp they are like you did with the box, except there is roller wheels and rails in the floor as the guide. kzread.info/dash/bejne/Zmio0qhpXai8ppM.html I've done ramp jump from a chinook but only door from C130. There will be doors. Have a good one.

How come the center sections of flap are not going down

Beautiful model, Dom. You make me go back in time, when I built the Airfix model ... 70s, I was only ten years old: you can imagine how accurate the realization was ... let's move on to something else! Excellent takeoff and good flight, i.m.h.o. a bit 'too fast even with extended flaps, perhaps with some more flight things could improve. To launch the parachute you could make an ejector, controlled by another channel in addition to that of the door, to kick out the parachute at the desired time. All in all I would say a great plane, congratulations to you for piloting and to Claire for filming. Cheers Dom, until the next video! P.S a little link to find the model? Hi Dom, what's your CG on the C-130

This reminds me of when I was a kid, I used to have nightmares of Planes or UFOs crashing but when they got closer, they were just RC Models.

That is my dream plane I'm mostly new with flying but this is my goal. I have to ask what Transmitter and Receiver are you using for that model?

Yes. It won't crawl along but as you see in the video it slows down plenty for parachute drop and nice easy landings. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

Will a spectrum DX8 be enough to run this? And will a 7 channel receiver work all systems or will it need an 8 channel? I usually use Lemon stab plus 7 channel receivers with my DX8.

I miss the C130...thanks to this war bird, I'm able to say that I've taken off in more planes than I've landed in.

Did hobbyking send you upgraded props by any chance? They are sending me new props out of the blue with no explanation. Haven't maidened it yet, so will probably wait until the new props come.

What squadron options does the decal pack offer for non-Fat Albert schemes?

There are 3 sets of decals with the gray military scheme but sorry I can't tell you specifically what they are as have disposed of the box and spare decals. Ask on the rcgroups forum and you'll get the answer. Regards Dom (Essential RC)

For the parachute guys. I added piece of foam inside to make a compartment. I also removed the door struts.

Landed with a THUD! WOW!

Maybe instead of jumpers try a plastic tank with a chute? Very nice demo!

You either need enough channels on your receiver or use a y-lead, possibly with a reverser, try without first. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

On a 4S2700 pack I'd say 5-6 minutes but I would urge you to time your first flight for a short 3-4 minutes and see what you have left in the pack. You don't want to hit LVC. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

To start out with get something like this bit.ly/volantexRcSportCub. It's relatively cheap and has everything included in the box except for the four AA batteries you need for the transmitter.

Very cool to see you model. I have jumped from C-130’s many times. Your guys there are paratroopers. We were trained that, under the laws of warfare, a “parachutist” is someone forced to jump because of equipment failure.. like shooting down an aircraft. That person may not be engaged while in the air under canopy. A “paratrooper,” is an airborne soldier who’s job is to jump on purpose, as a means of rapid deployment, who’s intention is to fight. That person may be engaged while still in the air. Pretty cool to see you getting them deployed.

Essential RC none taken whatsoever. Thought you might get a kick out knowing. I was a sport skydiver as well. I’ve jumped the C-130, C-141, C-5, Chinook and Blackhawk helicopters, as well as a bunch of civilian skydive aircraft. I really like your C-130 and the jumpers! Very very cool!

I have had many years working alongside the C.130 in the UK and the one thing that I loved about it was the way it sits in the air no mater at what speed it was being flown at having said this I know from my own experience with RC scale the difficulty involved but I have to agree the excess speed affects the scale affect of this model in the air which is unfair to the people who have been involved with the production of such a great looking model

On most planes I fly I use 3 position rates. With max being 100% and full physical throw. Then I set 60% and 30% of that. 30% expo across everything.

Its all in your Voice. Klair great filming. I don't think those men were not as gungho about jumping out the back of a C130 as they told inlisting people! I love this video Heck of a try Mr Dom on shoots! Do the short takeoff and landing" THINGS" work or just for looks. I also want an c-130

I have always loved this particular aircraft & am seriously considering investing in one, I have a quick question for you though (or anybody else who's flown one). Being that it's an over wing with a fairly generous sized wingspan, do you think this particular model would be okay for a novice pilot?? I used to fly fixed wing AC (I never progressed from over wings) many many years ago, but after being out of the hobby for many years, latley in the last couple of years I have only flown the drone I own, which is why I would put myself firmly back in the novice class where AC are concerned.. So suitable for a novice or only the more experienced pilots??

Only for experienced pilots I'm afraid Stu. Novice pilots could end up wrecking this very easily. It's a relatively fast model. Simple mistakes would result in a total loss. Best to get something like a Durafly Tundra and get used to flying that at full throttle before trying something like this.

I did and the slow motion sequences looked quite scale but it seems to be a bit of a rocket ship but as it was a maiden flight you probably wasn't too keen on slowing it down and risking a stall .Do you know how much will it cost ? I can't find any pricing .

So lots of reviewers say Hobbyking planes are crap. Personally I bought a Vampire EDF that flies very nicely. Biggest con with their planes is the paint comes off just putting it together. Wish they figured out to put a little pva in the paint to bond it to plane.

How much did this cost? Can’t find the price anywhere.

Why buy from an online store you know nothing about? Crazy. Yes...it's probably a scam. Look at products on KZread channels like this and use the links in the video description or pinned comment. We only deal with good online RC stores. Also, do not buy from KZread or Facebook RC adverts. They are almost always scams.
