I'm really glad I found this review. I was seriously considering buying this machine until the part where you talked about having to change settings to use the generator part. I see being 50 or 60 feet away from the truck, welding then needing to grind something and have to walk back to the truck to change a setting and back again to change it back. Thanks for the review.

I’m glad your having good luck with yours. I bought one 3 months ago and it had the worst arc quality I have ever ran into on a engine drive welder. Didn’t matter what rod I used. Sold that thing after using it three times. Running an ESAB rouge180I off a 9000 watt generator now. A world of difference in arc quality, runs smooth as butter.

When welding does the power go down or does the motor get reved up?

The most annoying part I found with my old 145 was having to turn the dial up to use a grinder. Which will really make you cuss when you’re on top of something like a round baler and have to get off to reset the breaker

Yes I agree that is very aggravating. Luckily I have been fortunate to have someone within yelling range to turn the dial lol.

With this machine you would be using 1/8 ROD. 6010 ROOT pass 1/8" and then a 7018 FILL and CAP passes with 1/8". This welder CAN handle 5/32 but it would probably run a little cold and you might not get enough fusion.
