Some company make these fire extinguisher that are the size of a spray paint can. They really come in handy when your into the speed run hobby. The 2 ive used had plenty of extinguisher in them to put the car out and collateral damage. I think they would benefit you also.

Thank you sir! You are exactly right. I do have a few of those and worth ever penny. This car was put out with a bottle of water. My reaction was just to run to it - before it got too bad.. and it just so happened to work out for the better.

I would he liked to see how you dealt with the fire, did you have an extinguisher with you or did you stomp it out? I feel like this is a not often covered part of the hobby and probably something we could all learn from. Hope the car is not a complete loss.

sand is one of the best ways. dirt will work also. Have a shovel handy or a bucket of sand. fire extinguisher is good for anything else that might of caught on fire as a result of the battery. the more tools you have to put out a fire the better

You’re exactly right. I stopped filming because I felt dealing with the situation was more important than anything at that point. Within about 1 minute, I had the fire out and everything was good. I really need to do a follow up video though-

I know it'll be hard to tell with the extent of the damage, but any idea what may have caused the big shift in direction? Overcorrection?

Not really sure buddy. The car was veering to the left and I had my hand on the wheel. I generally make a correction or two during a run, but my steering speed is turned down so far that I would have to really turn it way to far.. and I don’t think I did. All I do know is that I messed up somehow 😁

Possibility to set woods on fire? check... can't slow down at 150+ mph when a car shows up? check. limited visibility? check. Fire extinguisher? no check... run ASAP to the crash? no check... Time to sell the RC cars and just get a FPV drone! :)

I guess it’s all just the chance we take. I’ve been doing this for many years and am proud to say this was a unique situation. Within probably 1 minute, I had the fire out and everything under control. It wasn’t easy though.
