HMHS Britannic - White Star Line - Documentary - Part Two of Three - Titanic's Lost Sister.

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Documentary from the mid 1990s uploaded in three parts. Subsequent research has established beyond reasonable doubt that "Britannic" went to the bottom of the Aegean Sea after striking a mine laid by a U boat. Also, subsequent to this documentary, the Harland and Wolff's shipyard at Belfast where the three great sisters were built has been turned into a tourist attraction with a museum where you can visit the slipway where the hulls were constructed and walk through the enormous Thompson Graving Dock where the ships were fitted out. You can also go aboard the last remaining White Star ship, the "Nomadic", one of the tenders used at Cherbourg to bring passengers out to "Olympic" and "Titanic", and stay in the drawing office where the ships were designed which is now a hotel. I visited in 2018 but the drawing office hotel had no room for me so I ended up at the Ibis down town. I would hope to make another visit there and maybe get to stay in the drawing office. I'd recommend a pilgrimage to Belfast for any White Star fans though, if you can't get there in person, there are many videos and photographs of the attraction online so you could visit virtually. I cannot help but think that the recent fatal attempt to visit "Titanic" would have been better served if they had chosen to visit "Britannic" instead as she lies in much shallower water and thus would be a much safer and easier (and probably cheaper) excursion.
