Think of it a loco and 3 lighted coaches. And it's a lot cheaper than Bachmann's 4CEP

Bachmann's 4CEP costs more than that in fairness.
Really needs the Rail Blue and Grey livery option, complete with the orange window curtains. This was the livery that these units spent the longest time in (approx, 1972 to 1988) yet it seems to always have been absent from the range

This livery was in the first release (I have one). Hopefully there will be another b/g batch next year.
I am now confused, the specs state it is a 3-pole motor, but Mike Field states it is still a 5-pole motor. Is this an up to date re-working of the model out in the stockists or the same?
In NZ that £362.99 will become about $NZ800.00! For that money, I have just had a four day break including motel and petrol money for 800 km motoring in my three litre Nissan Maxima V6! I am a Southern Electric modeller, but I won’t be buying at that price! Now semi-retired in Picton, South Island, New Zealand.
hi. great video, but at £300 its not for me, have my old Triang EMU 4 car set with V on the front
😃👍
They look nice, although to choose to do the sole Southern liveried one seems silly when they could've done others more suitable for renumbering. The price is too high, and I wouldn't spend more than £200 on a 4-car unit tbh. Also, the audio on this video is shocking...
These have 3 pole motor, not five as stated in the video.
Is the audio a bit hot?

it is for the Guest, not so much for the hornby guy
At £262 even die hard enthusiasts will avoid buying it These were my local trains for years I’m a life long railway fan both model and real life I just haven’t got the finances for it 😢
a very nice train im sure, but 360 odd quid😲😲 for a 30/40 pound motor🧐 and some cheap Chinese plastic and cheap Chinese led's🧐, im out🙄, maybe at a price point of £200 sound fitted then i'd buy one🤔
360 quid and the paint finish is pretty crap tastic. no clean crisp edges anywhere!
