So I guess we can expect a model of the V4 from Hornby in a few years time.

Wouldn't that be a great addition! The V4 is a nice looking locomotive.

I really wish Hornby would post an update on the Steam Generator Models. Surely there has to have been some progress since January's announcement back in 2022.

I gotta buy one. I would die to have a Hornsby model of the 2007 prince of wales P2 running on my layout

Great video of a great steam loco, are the first two coaches being pulled by this loco Bachmann Thompson teak models? thanks for sharing.

They are indeed - two Bachmann Thompson teaks followed by four of Hornby's Gresley teaks. We need a few more of the latter in the office for these wonderful apple green machines.

@@hornbymag Those Bachmann Thompson teak coaches remind me of the Hornby teak coaches from the early 70’s, it’s a shame Bachmann didn’t fit lighting in them, the electrical pickups are in the bogies ready for aftermarket units to be fitted, Hornby’s latest teaks don’t have lighting in them, that’s a shame because they look great.

Firstly, thankyou for bringing this to us. I have to ask; am I seeing a lot of highly polished steel, stainless steel or polished aluminium ?? I love what you're doing, it even gives me the incentive to cross the world to see it (apart from the $ factor, LOL).

Beautiful engine but it should be named after something Scottish, as the original lococs were specifically designed for Scottish metals.

The Prince of Wales (royal family) also has a Scottish title which I think has been stated that 2007 will carry.

@@exarkun42: It will be called Duke of Rothesay (which is one of the Prince of Wales' titles) when running on Scottish metals.

It has been named Prince of Wales to continue a theme from the A1 Steam Trust. The A1 was named Tornado with an airforce connection, the P2 Prince of Wales with a Navy connection and the V4 has been named Highlander for a Military connection.

I belive if I remember correctly the p2 was named prince of wales because prince Charles at the time was the prince of wales and he named tornado

I notice the lubricator linkage is still missing from the model! The hornby a4 and q1 had this part and were much cheaper so whats the excuse?

Its been missing on all their p2s- i own cock of the north and lord precident, missing on both and from pictures on the others too. Can be added by butchering a spare part a4 lubricator to shorten it as i have done for mine. I dont think im jumping to conclusions.

Yes, it is part of a collection of tunes found on Epidemic Sound. I’ve forgotten the name of the track but if you search ‘Scotland’ you’ll find it in the list of music that comes up.

Building a P2 What a waste of money. Ask

Hello Kenneth, with respect, it will generate enough income from rail tours and tourism when it visits heritage railways. It also creates employment and engineering skills on the build and maintenance of the locomotives.

Seeing that 2007 has been in the works since 2013 and that the problems with the P2 design are being resolved, I don’t see it as a massive waste of money.. Millions of pounds have been put towards the project and if it was a waste of money, I think the project would have been cancelled years ago

After all this "global warming" nonsense has sent us back to the dark ages. Having the skills to build a steam locomotive seems like a great idea.
