I used to wear a Shoei Neotec which needed replacing after heavy use (no damage but became uncomfortable). I refuse to pay the price of the Neotec 2 so tried one of these i90s. I had to go up a size but find it to be extremely comfortable and at a third of the price of a Neotec I'm happy with it but I do have small criticisms which I'll mention. The locking button is a bit fiddly to find with gloves on, the retention strap and buckle (it comes with a ratchet type fastener here not the DD rings) are a bit thin in my opinion also. I like the locking mechanism which means its approved for use open and closed here in the UK. The pinlock and drop down sun visor work well (at least for the 4 days of sunshine we get here). It does not have the same safety rating as the Shoei on the SHARP rating system but overall it's a very nice lid and I ride every single day and at the end of the day it doesn't leave my bald head looking like something out of Star Wars like my Shoei did!

Nicely done video, thank you ❤️ - you covered everything that I wanted to know. I like the channeling for speakers & mic, the ventilation, the flip up ability, sun visor flip down ease, the chin strap double d-ring (ol' school's the best school), ease of visor replacement, DOT compliant, the material made from, proper color & weight under 4 lbs etc. Was looking at the SHARK, but they're too greedy at over $400 a 🪖 SMH...

Thanks for the feedback Stephen! We agree, the HJC is a high quality offering at a very fair price point. Enjoy and ride safe.

I own this helmet. It is the best lid I have ever warn. my blue tooth fit great and my cam on the right. Great! lid. It is a fact. If you want to ride you should spend the money for the right gear or you will! regret it.

I think I'll go with the c91. Thanks for the comparison. I ride a lot, but at the price why not? My current hjc modular is starting to whistle and is old. I thought about the GMax or LS2 or the built, but HLC seems to be lighter and more reliable.

Good video. I’ve been trying to see what’s on the back of the helmet, no one selling them shows the back. Do you have any info on what sounds better between hjc/sena vs. cardio 4x. Do you know if the color is exactly the same as the Harley capstone 2. I know Same helmet but hjc calls it wine berry. Harley calls it billiard red.. thanks.

Hello. Perfect video for what we’re dealing with. My wife bought a medium HJC i90 and has never been happy with the fit. We now realize she should have bought an XL instead. Can we change the inside from a Medium to an XL without purchasing a new helmet?

Different shell sizes, so the pads and liners would not work.

How loud would you say this helmet is, I just watched a video from 3 years ago I believe it was 2019 ( older model i-90) and he said he measured 104 decibels inside the helmet. That seems remarkably and dangerously loud to me

When it comes to helmet noise, or lack thereof we've found feedback to vary greatly between riders. How loud or quiet a helmet is equal parts design, helmet type (modular, full face, etc), rider fit and the type of machine you find yourself on. Because of this we typically do not provide our opinion on noise unless the helmet is a true outlier. That is to say if we have consistent feedback from customers or our staff that a helmet is either exceptionally quiet or loud, we will happily share that with our audience. In our experience the variance between the majority of properly fitted helmets being ridden on identical machines is not as significant as you may think. If noise is a top priority and ear plugs are not an option we can recommend a few exceptionally quiet brands (Shoei or Schuberth). Yes, exceptionally quiet usually comes at a price. We also recommend finding a fit that is as snug as possible out of the box. Purchasing a helmet that is too roomy to start leads to sloppiness and extra noise after the break in period. Thanks for watching and hope this helps!

I own this helmet in a small and it suffers from being very very noisy. So much so that I am replacing it after just a few months. Noise is worse in left ear. Tried another cheap £99 helmet which was far more quiet. My i90 currently returned to HJC to establish if there is a fault with the helmet. Regardless of what they say I can’t really use it as is so loud in the left ear (even with 39db Oxford earplugs) I can’t risk damaging my hearing so I am replacing it. Avoid this helmet
