Does creation of temporary table creates a folder in Hive datawarehouse directory ? If no, then where does it store the data.

Hello Team, I have a question here, for internal or managed table, hive uses it's default location which is user/hive/warehouse, so my question is that what is the location where external table gets created because the location that we mentioned while creating external table is the location where the table picks the data from and not the one where it gets created. Waiting for the response.
