Ive been teaching my 11 year old son your method for just a few days, he has been in a slump all season and tonight went two for two and hit the furthest tripple of his life over the left fielder. Im shocked at how fast he has picked this swing up and it seems to come natural to younger players. Thanks alot!

This drill on its own is great however it is especially great when you do the two ball pitching machine drill. You hold for the offspeed, or snap and tilt instantly for the fastball.

You have one ball close to the base of the feed and one higher up, you don't tell the hitter which one you're going to feed. The one closer to the base resembles a fastball that they have less time to react to, the other the off speed pitch. You can see other videos where Richard has done this.

This is gold! You can see Judge do this every night. He makes it look very easy. Can’t wait to get my 14 yr old daughter proficient at this as she is a very good player with D1 aspirations but has been inconsistent with her power as of late.

Thank you! this should help. My brain is stuck on forward motion = power. Its a process, learning a new swing especialy with game time pressure. I put my toe up with no weight but find myself rocking back a forth on it. Lifting it completly seems like the solution

Have just started utilizing a similar approach with my 6 year old, this week. He's getting way out in front, because his weight shifts too far forward on his front leg. I'll polish up my approach here. Thanks!

Also, do you think the rope bat helps with teaching the wrist snap from behind? It appears that the snap has to happen in order to be able to get the rope to move horizontally. Might not be the main intent of the rope bat, but maybe an inadvertent benefit?

Good stuff coach! I have seen some elite batters accidently land slightly early before release out hand and still hit a home run. Is learning how to hold stretch and only the heal plant releases coil/load a good drill (Pretty much learn how to land balls of set foot without planting "Egg Shells")? I know you don't want deceleration but that situation can happen correct?

I have seen a drill, where they have the batter set their front leg on a good sized ball and as it slowly rolls forward, their foot falls off of it as they swing. Is this drill facilitating what you are teaching or is it causing the weight to come forward too soon? Basically, would this drill help with what you teach?

Hey coach I have a question…my swing has been manipulated so many times by so many coaches and none of it seems to work. But when I hitch or drop my hands prior to hitting slightly I hit bullets all over the park but get no lift on the ball. Why is this? 🤔 and

My 10 year old son's coach tells him he is wrong to lift his front foot. It is incredibly frustrating as it is my sons 3rd year of baseball and this coach is completely new to baseball this year and telling my son his dad is wrong (when the dad has taught him off your videos). Any suggestions?

Brace. Your goal should be to keep it off the ground as long as you possibly can.

Change your focus here. See how long you can keep that front foot off the ground for. It will come down when it needs to.

I understand what you are saying. But it seems tou are saying the swing is launched from one leg before the front foot plants. Roberto Clemente getting into his back hip/"coiling" is as good as it gets. kzread.info/dash/bejne/qqN20KV-dJixdrA.html
