What's funny is people have already been claiming Christopher Columbus was black. @Rui Silva it's just so sad and pathetic that people have to make other historical figures a different race because they don't have such epic stories to tell from their own. The story of Cleopatra is very epic indeed, dramatic as hell. That should be no reason to hijack it to validate inflated egos. But there it is. I think why they do it is because they're ashamed. Black Americans especially only have a history of being slaves and oppressed by a system. Other than people like MLK there isn't much they can go off. So when they look at Africa it's understandable they'll aim for the top shelf names like Cleopatra to compensate. But... she's not black lol. And people know this. You won't convince them otherwise however what they're trying to do is teach younger generations that she was black because they know people won't look any further than a documentary. And once they establish this, if you try to prove them wrong they will get violent even. Then there is the fact that Egypt was under the control of the Ptolemy dynasty since the death of Alexander the great. The Ptolemy's were Macedonian/Greek and intermarried with other Greeks and even close family members. Cleopatra was the last of the Ptolemy's to rule Egypt. Cleopatra is a Greek name. Egypt was ruled for a couple hundred years by Nubia so there are black rulers of Egypt to make movies about. Hollywood is lazy, stupid and dishonest. The people in this parody have dark hair, and dark eyes. Hitler's master race were Nordic: blond hair, blue eyes, and lily white skin.

I feel you have completely failed to grasp the comedic subtleties of this clip. As a (presumably white) South African, you might be surprised to learn that Hitler is considered in the rest of the world, as having been just a teensy weensy bit racist. Here's the thing... They know they are lying. They know cleopatra was not black. The entire point of all the race/gender swapping of characters and outrageous revision of history is to destroy existing culture so that they can rebuild society as they see fit. They have to sever ties to our history to take control of our future.

That's just it. We quickly notice revisionism because we're all interconnected through the internet and cross reference almost as soon as the information is public. But revisionism of the past and propaganda of the present has been the historical norm for as long as history. It's kind of scary to think that the liars are this blatant when they can hardly get away with it because it makes you think of how bad it must have been in the past. Of course, there are arguments that this modernity created a situation where the media has to exaggerate in order to literally compete with the truth that direct evidence social media can bring, but I'm still even more suspicious of the past peoples in the equivalent media positions who could gain untold influence by being the only ones to report on a fact. Imagine having that power and it not getting to you.

What Netflix did here is cultural appropriation. They took Cleopatra and present her in a way that THEY want to see her. They didn't bother asking the Egyptians' opinion, even though Cleopatra is part of their history.

As a historian, I can state with absolute conviction that Cleopatra was not black. She was Macedonian, and a direct descendant of General Ptolemy, who'd served and rode with Alexander the Great. Also Macedonian. To add fuel to my claim, it is also a point of historical fact that the Ptolemy's liked to 'keep it in the family'. That's historian code for Incest. She was not likely to have been particularly physically beautiful, but almost every known historical record about her indicates she was exceptionally brilliant, probably one of the most intelligent women in the world at that time. She was also totally ruthless, considering she had almost all of her siblings murdered. To claim that she was black is, to be honest, rather insulting to not only Egyptians, but to just about everyone who knows anything about ancient Rome or Egypt. It would rather be like suggesting that claiming that Mansa Musa was not African, but really a man of Middle Eastern or Indian origin. Yes... that absurd.

@@nosuchthing8 neh, after her death Augustus had her 'canceled', erased from history, evrything about her was destroyed, well most of her, only +200 years later some Roman historian re-invinted her, some even say she was just a mythological figure, who's origin is debated. did she existed? probly. Was she exactly how they portray her? Highly unlikely. Just inflated by stories in ancient time and juiced over by modern Hollywood.

Fun Fact:. There was a Nubian queen who ruled the Ancient Egypt before and she was black and her country is on the present day Sudan which is a black country.

I think he is massively overacting and from old tapes we know that H. spoke differently when he was not on TV or radio. It's acting for a popcorn audience that would be disappointed if the H. actor would not act like the cliché they expected.

I remember my grandmother saying to me "I don't care what they tell you at school, Adolf Hitler was really called Arthur Blenkinsop, and he came from Barnsley". (Mind you she also thought it was still the First World War & Clement Attlee was prime minister)

1st off, I was surprised this made it past the you tube censors. 2nd, I am glad I canceled my Netflix subscription. 3rd. This was well done by Dolfy and the gang. Sometimes, one must repeat the obvious over and over.
