Yes Hitachi obtained Euclid gradually increasing its share in a joint venture with VME North America. Euclid-Hitachi became Hitachi Construction Truck Manufacturing on January 1, 2004, and the famous Euclid green was replaced with white and Hitachi orange. The Euclid name was phased out by the end of the same year.

Hitachi are a good machine, had the good fortune to operate all the machines featured in the video except the EX 875,1250,2500,3600,5500, not as good as JCB though

5500's are good diggers for reliability, but they are pricks to drive. So rough!!! You need a foot on the windscreen to keep you in the seat.

I simply can't understand why these huge excavators don't have a massive hydraulic accumulator system to make cycle times faster and give them more breakout force... simply don't get it. It actually takes energy to stop the bucket rotating when loading. All that energy is wasted! The engine would work much more efficiently, you would burn less fuel and do more work.

A lot of these machines do use a hydraulic swing brake which funnels into an accumulator that then drives the upper half of the machine.

Some pretty nice angles you captured there. A little choppy but, I like the shots you got. I guess I can imagine the voice-over - narrative steering the video around from shot to shot. Nice job in that respect

Great Piece of Machinery' a little side note; although I have no answer as to why, although I would like to think I know why but don't" John Deere makes the vary same copy hoe as the Hitachi; Now that was some many years back John Deere had an arrangement with Hitachi; I seen the John Deere, a few of the Deere hoes; From what I knew they where spec' out as being the same machine: But Deere just didn't put the money in to it: ether way it doesn't matter to me: No idea what came of it: I'm retired now so it really makes no mind: I been pro cat all my years as a HDR/W - operator; at the same time as a HDR/W when it comes to Machinery I rather work what has shown it self to be a proven piece of equipment: There is way to much junk out there: I wont wast my time working on some machinery: It sort of rips my back side that Cat some odd many years back moved a lot of there division to Mexico: So any more now I'm not so hot on them as I once had been: There is a lot more to be said' like when Hitachi was told by some heavy hitters from cat on a job bid offers where cat pretty much ended up giving there new line of Shovels away to keep Hitachi out of it: Talk about having the balls to tell Hitachi that there was no way they were going to allow the Hitachi to push there big shovels in CA; there was no way that was going to happen; Understand I'm pro cat; but in no way do live with blinders on" Hitachi told told cat in my words now; We don't need to sell anything of ours here in the US; Were Global bone heads; if we never sold an other machine in the USA it wouldn't make any difference to us: We only came to offer a top proven machine; they got up & left: Now look, Hitachi is every where; why because it is great hoe: ****** They invented, reinvented the way the hydraulics needed to be; For years these big shovels hoes by other company's just never could get them to function smoothly; Mitso makes a good shovel: it was doing it way before Hitachi got it's act together; fast machine back in the day; wasn't much to look at:
