Bought this model little over 6 years ago (2016) at Lowes for $109 when needing a budget model for home use. I've never had an issue with occasional use and certainly serves its purpose at that price point. Thanks for reviewing.

I have a Hitachi reciprocating saw and it's great. Excellent vibration control. I just bought this 10" radial arm saw but haven't used it yet. Hitachi is a Japanese parent company but their power tools are mostly assembled in mainland China.

My Hitachi miter saw performs great. The C10 FSH sliding miter saw has smooth sliding mechanisms, cuts accurately, had great reviews and was made in Japan. Hope the newer Hiachi versions are built as well but mine is running too good to need another.

I've used my Hitachi pneumatic crown stapler like crazy. I can't even begin to mention how much subfloor I've put down with that gun. With that being said, I've never had an issue with it. It wasn't a tool that broke the bank, and it's more than payed for itself. That crown stapler is by far the most reliable one I've ever used. Go TIA!

The saw blade guard can be locked out of the way when the blade is being changed. Move the saw blade guard all the way back and then insert the bolt that was removed when you installed the handle on the front of the saw or a short dowel. Place the bolt or dowel in the opening at the end of the metal arm on the side of the plastic blade guard. After the bolt or dowel is inserted begin the procedure to change the saw blade. The guard will stay out of the way while the blade is being changed. My saw came with a wrench to change the saw blade it was attached to the saw beside the black carry handle. I hope that this will help make changing the saw blade much easier.

We this a lot on the jobsite, in places where we didn't want to haul a big saw. Also used it along side the DWS780 that way we could have a finishing blade and framing blade going at the same time. Agree completely with the nailer comment. We would only buy their guns. Hitachi framing guns are super light and very durable. Hitachi seems to be a great value.

I bought a DeWalt dw717. Out of the box the center of the saw table sagged 0.0015 inch under it's on weight, and the miter table tilted to the right 0.011 inch. I returned the saw. The tables on this saw (hitachi c10fce2) were within 0.002 inch from perfectly flat, aligned, and the miter table did not tilt, so I'm keeping this one. Also it cost 1/4 as much as the DeWalt dw717. I don't need a sliding saw to cut molding. The Dewalt dw717 would be good for framing and shit like that, however they need to beef it up a bit so that the table does not sag under it's own weight. Too flimsy. This was my first disappointment with DeWalt tools, and I have many of their tools.

This test is only if you want to saw with a precision miter saw. (not for rough work). Tips and Test: Very important if you would like to saw with precision. (avoid torsion as much as possible)! Always choose a Miter saw with a handle positioned in a vertical line above the saw blade. Everything must be aligned, slide rails, handle, and saw blade,it is much better this way the blade will not tilt. Because there is some torsion in the aluminum housing . And choose an engine with softstart on it to prevent wear of the gear and worm shaft. It is very important that everything is aligned. Here are some examples to show how the handle must be positioned above the blade. Bosch gcm 800 sj / Bosch gcm 8 sjl / Evolution rage 3 / FESTOOL KS 60 / Bosch GCM 8 SDE / FESTOOL KS 60 E KAPEX / Metabo KGSV 72 Xact / Bosch PCM 8 SD / Hitachi C10FSH. (This also is the case with the Miter saw without the slide rails). (If you want). You can test it yourself at home if there is torsion in the aluminum housing. Step-1. First you make a saw cut from +-5 mm deep in to a flat piece of wood about +- 20 mm thick to this with the normal handle positioned on the right side of the Miter saw (the wood it will remain in place until the test is completed). Step-2. Then repeat this by pushing the saw blade down with your hand (finger) on the aluminum protective cover were the saw blade is cased in. Just now only do this without the running engine. Step-3. Now you can see if the saw blade will be positioned in or next to the saw cut. If the saw blade is (+- 0,2 / 0,5 mm) next to the saw cut then there is torsion in the aluminum housing (test is completed). Step-4. therefor it is much better to choose a Miter saw with the handle positioned vertical in line above the saw blade. Conclusion: how further away the handle is from the saw blade how more chance of torsion in the aluminum housing.(don't go for that). Also with a cheap slide miter saw it is still better the handgriff in line a above the saw blade than on the right side. Maybe they will make it someday then we have a winner...

I am constantly having to adjust adjust the vertical degree. Even after tightened, it slightly moves from 0 after a couple of straight cuts. Making my miters not meet nicely. Then I have to loosen and tighten again at 0. Just a little annoying but for 100 it wasn't bad. Boss bought it for the shop. I have the 12" DeWalt 715 at home and is still perfect from out the box and use it as much never moving out of angle. Gets the job done though.

But their cordless drills seems like junk just not in same league as the other big guys, but I've used an awesome 2" sds drill for core drilling.

Get a 10 inch, a 12 inch is over kill for home use. Hitachi, ryobi and craftsman are really the only companies the provide a nice saw for under 250.

For awhile Dewalt had the dw715 12 inch single bevel Miter saw on sale for $199. Check around for pricing, and if you're patient like I am, you can probably get a great deal. For the price it was a freaking steal!

Matthew Fant yup, Lowes often has that price. Glad I went with the 12" because the laminate floor I ended up cutting later on were 8" wide and is pretty much the exact cut it makes laying flat. Awesome saw

Everyone keeps mentioning that Hitachi is Japanese. The Japanese companies are no more immune to having things made in China than the American companies. Just because it's a Japanese company, don't assume it was made in Japan, ,look at the box.Made in China is not necessarily a bad thing. It depends on the quality control people from Japan that they have overlooking the operation in China. This can be anywhere from none ((the company just gives the specs to the Chinese company and says build it) to a hands on approach that checks out every detail of the manufacturing, right down to vetting the parts suppliers.

Yea, after I saw this I bought it. Very nice saw for the price. You have to be an idiot not to buy this saw if you need a small 10 inch saw. (Everyone needs a small miter saw).

I have one of the original 10" miter saws, its a hitachi from the mid 80's and my dad gave it to me. I got it and i thought it was the biggest pos ever it took about a minut to cut trough a 2x4 and never cut accurately because of the blade guard had faded so much. Well, i had about $70 and all i could buy was a referbished 7.1/4" in ryobi miter and i figured that wouldnt be much better, so i spent $5 on WD-40 and sprayed some of the mechanisms with it, then i put a new plug for about $2/3, i wrapped the cord in electrical tape and and spraypainted the cord with plastidip to make it more rugged which cost about $10, the i bought stainless steel bolts to replace a few ruined ones for $3, meguire's headlight polish to polish the blade guard so i could see where i was cutting safely, and finally a dewalt blade for $24 and the saw is now a terrific tool! So for $45 i got a saw that is much better that many saws now. Now eventually i needed a 12" saw and when i was researching them i discovered that hitachi still makes these saws and they sell them for get this.... $999.99, so obviously i made the right decision to restore it instead of buying a new saw, i also stayed under my budget. I think i will make a video on my channel talking about it.
