HIT THE ROAD JACK - Acoustic Fingerstyle Guitar - Ray Charles Cover

Last week, I worked up a fingerstyle arrangement for Ray Charles' "I Got a Woman," and got so many requests for "Hit the Road Jack" ...well, here you go! I love your requests, and try to hit as many as I can. This tune is one of my favorite Ray songs, and I had never tried to play it solo fingerstyle, so thanks for throwin' down the challenge! The melody and bassline bounce off of each other in such a hypnotic way... and the minor key swing in the bass is just so damn groovy!

@@ArhaeG That's bollocks. Nothing about this is simple. You're doing one of two things, either you've never touched a guitar in your life so you can't understand the level of difficulty of what his doing, or you're trying to sound cool by pretending this is simple for you. Either way, you should shut it.

@@JohnDoe-yw2nq I agree. It is a little like "playing those simple ACDC tunes...". If you request perfect tone, pefect timing, perfect feel, perfect sync with the other guys in the band, the mega tight impression of the performance, etc etc, then all of a sudden, very very few are left, that can do it that well. And then they have not been the ones that actually put together these tunes so skillfully....!

I've heard many versions of Hit The Road Jack, and this is absolutely my favorite version.
There are times that music can heal a broken heart…and times it can rip it out and stomp that sucker flat. This rendition has a spirit that would even give Jack hope....well done!
Update: I've almost completely learned this song! Thanks Justin, this is amazing inspiration for fellow guitarists.
Love the walking blues. And love that you would honor Ray Charles with this great cover. He's probably smiling up in heaven.
How is it possible that ONE guy, with ONE guitar can make all that music with such ease. If I had one wish, it might not be for world peace! I’m selfish that way!
He’s the bass, percussion and singer all in one! Amazing
It was said that Jerry Lee Lewis was so good on his piano, he didn't need a Bass player. Well, I think this dude right here is so damn good on his guitar, He doesn't need a rhythm guitar, bass, drums, heck even a lead singer - bitch he IS the band
